Just say you won't get married until it's legal for gays to get married EVERYWHERE in the United States. That way you go from everyone thinking your a commitaphobe to champion of civil rights.

The wisdom of Dan Savage:

Quote:

Savage believes monogamy is right for many couples. But he believes that our discourse about it, and about sexuality more generally, is dishonest. Some people need more than one partner, he writes, just as some people need flirting, others need to be whipped, others need lovers of both sexes. We can’t help our urges, and we should not lie to our partners about them. In some marriages, talking honestly about our needs will forestall or obviate affairs; in other marriages, the conversation may lead to an affair, but with permission. In both cases, honesty is the best policy.

“I acknowledge the advantages of monogamy,” Savage told me, “when it comes to sexual safety, infections, emotional safety, paternity assurances. But people in monogamous relationships have to be willing to meet me a quarter of the way and acknowledge the drawbacks of monogamy around boredom, despair, lack of variety, sexual death and being taken for granted.”

So, you're out with your 49-year-old, mother of three wife, and twenty-something gymnast Shawn Johnson is setting on your right...

Penguins are NOT monogamous. Just saying.

I'm all for people living the way they want to live, married or not. It's your choice, and it sucks society pushes towards being married.

That said, I hate anyone who LIES or isn't MATURE enough to go into something and not realize what they're doing. It's the people who promise to take on the responsibilities of marriage and then realize they can't handle it, so they start to cheat.

Fuck temptation. If you made the pact, stick with it. Know what you're getting into before you get down on that knee.

FYI, I do want to get married, because I feel I really found someone who I can see myself with. I'm still going to put some time between getting down on that knee, but I want to be emotionally and rationally center.

Not just that, but her deflated career probably.  She was THE hottest A-list actress in the 90s, and I'm not sure what the fuck happened after that.

It's called getting old. I hear it happens from time to time.

Her career went to shit in her early to mid 30s...that's not very old for an actress.  Halle Berry is 45 and still going pretty strong.

A sign you may be desperate to retain your youth: You marry a guy half your age, then when he dumps you, you OD on ... Whip-Its.

And what so many people do not realize is that trying to act young and hip only makes you look that much older.

but this is no laughing matter...

she should have tried Cake.  I've heard that whips your Shatner's Bassoon into a frenzy.

Whip Its really? Whats next, Ludes?

You know you've hit rock bottom when you're getting your drug recommendations from old Denis Leary routines.

I disagree, check Halle Berry's IMDb, the last 5 or 6 years have been kind of bleak. She may be talked about a lot, but she certainly is landing big roles. It's the sad reality of Hollywood for actresses who don't diversify away from the "hot chick" roles.

She also drank half a fifth of Peppermint Schnapps but she filled the bottle back up with water so her mom and dad will TOTALLY never find out.

Moore has a long history of drug problems going back to the fucking 80's. The reason why her career fizzled was because, despite being cast in several hit movies, she's just not a good actor. She has no range, is hard and humorless. I remember watching Striptease and everyone else in the cast seemed to get that it was a comedy except for her as she was acting like she was doing The Scarlet Letter Part 2. Who knows, maybe having to look at the ugly fucking potatohead daughter of hers has retarded her brain? Kinda like how anyone who see's Cthulhu goes mad?

Morgan Freeman has lied to me.

Also, I have no recollection of writing that whatsoever. It was only three months ago! Was I blacked out? Bizarre.

But Berry's career didn't bottom out at 33 years of age.  Your original aging theory for Moore didn't make sense to me.  Her once fruitful career ended prematurely and it had little or nothing to do with "aging", there's no getting around that.

Wasn't Demi Moore just kind of hard to work with?

Really?  First I've heard it.  I'm pretty curious now as to why he career stalled so suddenly.

Striptease and women can't weather flops in Hollywood as well as men - Hollywood won't let them. Demi made herself a pretty loud and obnoxious celebrity target as well so there was probably some tall poppy syndrome involved.

A womans career life expectancy is drastically shorter than a mans in tinsel town unless your name's Meryl Streep.

If you need to team up with someone in a marriage, that's fine, I guess, but if that means that you need to constantly be on the look out for "cheating' and "betrayal" from your partner, then the entire idea just seems like more trouble than it's worth

You are going to make someone a lovely something someday Kate.

Nah, some guy was trolling her, so she left in disgust. A little unnecessary since he got banned shortly after, but she said she was thinking of leaving for awhile anyway.

Not really; that was the last in a series of weirdos that was trolling her.  Pretty sad that a person could be run off of the boards, no matter how goofy that person is.

Nothing honestly. However I knew people gave her a ton of shit so I talked to her in the chat a couple times. She told me about all her personal issues which I won't repeat because im not an asshole. However after that she got a ton of attitude with me and acted generally shitty toward me. Again that is what you get when you try to be nice. When someone has a reputation, there is usually a reason. But no I had to be an idiot and decide she was misunderstood. Not to mention this being the internet and all she is probably a robot or something.

She's probably a 45 year old ex-con with a penis.

Though admittedly Princess Kate never claimed to honestly vote for Herman Cain while dropping George Carlin quotes to defend their right to use the N-Word.

So at least she had THAT going for her.

I kind of miss her. She was a trip but reading her shit made my day less boring. Some of the conversations she instigated and participated in were epic.
