CHUD Thanksgiving 2011

Lamb Chops! Mashed Potatoes! Asparagus! Chocolate! A (hopefully) Nice Syrah! If the later doesn't work, I've got some nice Cider stocked!

Finishing up the crepes now for the brandied blueberry crepe dessert, bird's in the oven, potatoes soaking, carrots glazed, all the other veggies waiting for their time. Watching the Lions trip over their own penalty-laden feet, pouring the Pinot Noir, and just generally having a grand ol' time.

I am thankful for being alive, healthy, happy, loved, deeply in love, employed, financially secure, and at peace.  I had a rough go of it for a while where I couldn't find a job and I was feeling like absolute shit about myself, and I am beyond thankful that my family, my friends, and my ridiculously wonderful boyfriend were there to support me.  Harvey Dent fucking called it when he said that it's darkest before the dawn.  The dawn's here, and boy does it feel good.  I'm happy, the people I love are all happy and healthy, and Twilight is almost over.  Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

And with that, I join the 5,000th post club.

I'm thankful for my family, my close friends, CHUD, employment, writing, my animals, all animals, that there's a new Scorsese film out, that Bernie Sanders exists and that Barack Obama is the president.  Also that my copy of Stephen King's book finally arrived!

I'm most thankful for my family, friends and health, and I'm also thankful for all of the interesting discussion and laughs that fellow Chewers have provided over the years. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.

On a super super personal front, I'm thankful for this message I received yesterday:

"Just because you may or may not have pushed some people away, that doesn't mean that they won't come running back as soon as you're ready for it :)"

I've been dealing with a lot of things and it's had me in a pretty bad place on and off for awhile, and the person who sent me that is one of those people that I did push away and I've felt really shitty about it for a long time and makes me happy that they understand it.  One of those "everything's going to be okay" moments you find in those movies the kids like so much.

And all you sonsabitches.  I'm thankful for you.

Late happy thanksgiving to all chewers, but oh well!

Just got home from a wonderful thanksgiving with my family. My girlfriend and I went over to my parents' at about noon, and just now got home. Of course we helped cook, and we made a kickass apple pie that required over a stick of butter to make. Yum. My gf was also in charge of the candied sweet potatoes (her fave).

All in all, a pretty epic meal (and a few too many drinks) with family and friends.  Definite highlight of the night this year was catching the last 2/3rds or so of Back to the Future on HBO, and thus introducing a few of my younger cousins to the franchise in the process.

Still 30 minutes left in the day here on the east coast, so it's not too late to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.  In under the wire.

I'm thankful for the beautiful weather we are having here. It's been in the mid-60s the past couple of days.

I'm thankful for what looks to be a great summer for movies next year.

I'm thankful CHUD will be around a little while longer. (Hopefully longer than that!)
