Excellent piece!  I'm very much looking forward to future installments.

I'm also excited that a nice Raw Force DVD is on the way.  I can't wait to see it!

This movie will make you weep tears of GOLD.

Exhumed Films screened this a couple of years ago during one of their Horror-Thons and it fucking tore the place DOWN.

"Raw Force" is a total all-timer. Can't hype this one up enough.

Would love any feedback/suggestions on the format of this column peeps might have. Especially any extra info on the film/VHS we didn't include. Overall I'd like to keep these relatively simple, with just the basic schtick of seeing the nutty box art and letting Michael contrast that with what the movie actually is. I think CHUD needs more of what I'd call "morsel" columns, short and sweet and visual. That said, everything can always be better and more fun!

What a great column!  I loved it.  I really miss the ritual exactly as you describe it.  I used to drive up to my mom's house and visit this one video store that had a huge horror section and rent like five B movies and watch them all.  Plus all the great conversations with the clerks who watched so many movies and had opinions on all of them.

The format is great and I completely agree that CHUD needs more short columns.

I joined the FB group a good while back when you mentioned it in another article. I'd like to see Crimewave reviewed. I have the box if you need photos. It's a damn shame more people can't see the movie, since the Coens and Raimi pretty much disowned it. Sad part is, it's got a lot of GREAT(and admittedly, terrible) stuff in it.

I can see why a bookcase full of lurid, crappy, indefensible, wonderful old VHS tapes would be the cornerstone of any hardcore psychotronic geek's collection.

I can't really see waiting on Twitter line to buy the limited edition tapes the Drafthouse puts out occasionally; they should really be acquired through garage sales, video-store closeout sales, and the like. eBay is cheating.
