I didn't think it was funny in the trailer, but in that context it's pretty damn funny.

If Bosh is out until the at least finals, and the Heat win it all, people are going to have to give LeBron a lot of credit they might not have otherwise.  He's going to have to a ton of work these next 3-4 weeks.

And looks like the earliest Rose will be back is around the All-Star break next year.  Fucking sucks.

I cant believe how disgusting the Heat style of play is. It seems on every play they are flopping, the camera's keep trying to cut away but the heat are grabbing arms of defenders, screaming then falling down to try to draw fouls. Couple that with Wades ridiculous cheap shot on collison and I cannot understand how anyone can root for this Heat team. Lebron is so goddamn talented it is silly, but this Heat team plays a sickening brand of basketball. Here's to hoping the Pacers eliminate LeFlop and his band of whining ref baiters.

I flipped to the end of the game, saw LeBron pass the ball away with 6 on the clock then proceed to miss 2 free throws when down by one.

James isn't winning anything this year.  THUNDER time.

Irving may be the rookie of the year, but Leonard is the rookie that has had the greatest impact on a contender.

Hey, I hope you're right.  But with all he's going to have to do with Bosh out, if they do manage it, nobody should say he backed into the title, or there's an asterisk, or that it's Wade's team, or any of that.  He's going to have to earn it.

Wade also missed a free throw down the stretch, and Wade was the one flopping all over the court and taking an Artest-like cheap shot on a guy when he didn't get a call he wanted. I usually like Wade, but that game was an embarrassment.

Lebron had 28-9-5-6 btw. Those free throws were indeed brutal, though.

This series is going to be weird. Miami does flop, but Indiana also fouls like crazy. So one team is trying to push the refs to call everything while the other is trying to push them to call nothing. Every game is going to be either a low-scoring grind (like this one), or a parade of free throws. Blech.

WHOEVER WINS, WE LOSE.

But if the Pacers win, we lose a little bit less.

Although- I don't know.  The farther LeBron gets in the playoffs, the more satisfying it is if he loses.

You might say he's an... antagonist of sorts.

Damn. The Spurs were impressive tonight. It's gonna be tough for the Clippers and really anybody to beat them.

And nice win tonite, Indy.

I don't know about that. Indiana wants to play a pretty ugly brand of basketball. Indiana v Boston would be a horrific series to watch. From a basketball perspective, Miami's the only team left in the East that can play an entertaining style

From a drama perspective, it's no contest. We should all want to see Lebron's Heat in game 7 of the Finals. It'd be -fascinating-.

And I salute your cross-thread referencing skills, sir! I do like Lebron more than Betty, though.

Now I'm saying this as a fan, but I feel that the Pacers have a shot to win this series. A damn good shot.  Wade and James were the only two Heat players to score over 5 points, while the Pacers just pass the ball  around like mad and the team is just pull of guys that can score. Maybe not 30 points a night, but a bunch of guys getting 10 and 15 is much harder to defend.

I love ugly, scrappy basketball. Running, dunking and showboating just annoying me.

And damn the Spurs are one hell of a team.  I kind of forgot they were still in the playoffs.

On a side note, given the Thunders success, I feel bad for Seattle Sonic fans.. This is pretty much their team.

I think it's opposite.  A semi Finals loss would be humiliating.  A loss to the Spurs/Thunder in the Finals would be rough, but atleast that got there.

I hate to agree with Skip Bayless, but Leborn can't close.  I can't think of another MVP that doesn't want the ball at the end.  Or an MVP that threw up weak shit at the end of games.

This is the Celtics team I love. The team that looks like a contender capable of beating Miami.

There was this perception after the first couple games of the series these teams were evenly matched.  Clearly that's not the case... and I am glad to see it because it sure didn't seem like it when the Sixers finished the season under .500 after the break.

Can't believe the Lakers blew this game. OKC played  about as god awful in the second half as the Lakers could hope and they still won. People will be asking why Steve Blake and not Kobe took that last shot, but he was wide open so I don't really think it was a bad call. If the Lakers had a chance in this series they really needed this game, now I fear its going to damm near impossible. But here's hoping the Lake show can still pull it out.

Charles Barkley said a team that lives by the jumper dies by the jumper, and with about two minutes to go it looked like OKC was going to die by the jumper, but they found a way to win. KD came thru big time.

I'd say it was more the Lakers sloppy play than Durant coming thru.

Definitely a good choice, but it didn't stop Kobe from giving Artest the STANK EYE OF DEATH.

Kobe conveniently forgot how he screwed that last possession up by dribbling out 12 of the 18 seconds. That was way worse than anything Lebron has done at the end of a game (this playoffs).

Yeah, Kobe's 2 costly turnovers were really the difference in this game.

Like Gene Hackman said in the Replacements,  when the game is on the line a winner wants the ball.  Lebron is less than the sum of his parts. He's got all the skills needed to be a legend, but he's got no heart.

I think some of the teams Lebron has eviscerated in the playoffs over the years (Detroit, Chicago, Boston) would dispute that characterization.

Thread Starter

Has LeBron really "eviscerated" anybody since the 2010 playoff debacle against the Celtics? He was kind of joyless last year, and let Wade do the heavy lifting in the clutch.

Dominating the league MVP last year doesn't count? In the last 4 games, he averaged 29-8-7 while Rose shot 33% with Lebron guarding him most of the time.

Or putting up 35-14 and 33-7 in the final two Boston games?

Lebron deserves some criticism here and there, but people seem to have selective memories with him.

Miami is a bit of trouble.

Chalmer replaces Wade's points but they need that game with Wade/James getting 60 points.

Can't believe i'm rooting for  the Pacers

The Clippers have really been outmatched and outplayed by the Spurs. I can't believe how effectively CP3 has been shut down. Injury is part of it, but it's also the smothering San Antonio pressassure. I hope L.A. will be a diffrent story.

Yeah, It's tough to know how much of it is the injury, but the Spurs are doing a great job bottling him up. They keep changing up who is guarding him, going with Parker sometimes and other times putting Green on him for the length, and they aren't letting him get any room off screens.

The big thing I noticed in watching tonight is just how many easy shots the Spurs get. Everything at the rim for LA was challenged by 2-3 Spurs, but San Antonio has such great spacing that they get tons of point blank layups or wide-open jumpers. I don't know how you stop that offense. It's so methodical, and they have SO many different weapons. Parker is really sensational on the P&R, he almost never gets himself too deep, so if its well-defended they just recycle and run it again.

The game was just amazing. It's great to see the nation root for the Pacers!  It's been far too long since we've had excitement for playoff basketball.

Don't confuse rooting against the Heat to rooting for the Pacers.

Spurs/Thunder could be epic

This is how sports work.  It's like politics.  Temporary alliances, and strange bedfellows.

Go Pacers.

I'm rooting for the Pacers but it's actually rooting against the Heat.

I hate doing it because I don't really like them nor do I think they are that good.

Woner how the ratins for a OKC vs Spurs & Ind vs Philly would be?  Stern must be praying for Boston hard

I'm just gonna be that guy and look ahead.

I think the Spurs look absolutely brilliant, but can they run with the Thunder? I feel like, while the Spurs are on a tremendous run (their average margin of victory is in the realm of 18 points in regards to their last twenty games), the manners in which OKC have nuked the Lakers is extraordinarily impressive.

Right now, though, I honestly don't see the Spurs losing.

So... the number of playoff games this year where both teams scored 100+ points: One.

Damn, Philly.

There's a big difference between being up 3-1 and 2-2. Those were the stakes, and the C's blew it.

I marvel at how good OKC is in the 4th quarter. (especially Harden tonite)

LA getting some serious home cooking right now. Both Durant and the screener got knocked down on that last shot, and both fouls on Harden have been ridiculous.

"Homecooking??" Then tell me how the refs gave a double technical to Artest and Westbrook after Westbrook threw a punch and took a shot at his legs? And what about the clear back court violation on Durant when the ref is literally standing right in front of him!!!

Hey, I was only able to catch the last 6 minutes or so, and that comment came before the Durant backcourt.

Still, for the time that I saw, I stand by what I said. You can talk about the backcourt violation if you want, but that's an easy call to miss, since officials clearly don't watch players' feet when they're starting their moves. The first foul on Harden was seriously egregious, and clearly a result of Kobe just barking at the refs and wearing them down. The second foul was actually Kobe wrapping his arm around Harden and pulling him down, and somehow Harden got the foul. Considering the fact that Artest was draped all over Durant on an off-ball cut a couple plays later, it stood out as pretty bad.

I agree with you about the Harden fouls on Kobe most of those were pretty bad. Then again, Harden spent all night at the free throw line so go figure.

The key stat for me was that Kobe was 0-1 from 3pt range. He wasn't settling. When he's scoring without settling or forcing, LA's tough.

The interesting thing will be if Kobe and the big tall guys have anything in the tank 24 hrs later. The schedule is not their friend!

I'm probably jinxing them by commenting, but the Clippers are playing about as good as they possibly can. Clicking on all cylinders. (BG especially great) Big game that they need to win if they want to make this a series.

All the angst and frustrations of 25 years of being a Clippers fan bubbling to the surface during that epic collapse. Unbelievable game.

I hate the Lakers, but kind of love Meta World Peace. I can't help it.

Don't you kinda have to double Durant at the end? He is The Dagger. I can't think of any current player I'd rather have taking the last shot for my team.

Westbrook was pretty hot tonight too.  And KD kinda just hung back and took a deep three with the shot clock winding down anyway.  Not much you can do about that.  The Lakers had their shot, but Kobe's legs were probably gone by the fourth... hence the poor shooting.

Indy has battled hard, but I don't think it's going to be enough.

Still, they were right there even though Wade and LeBron combined for about 70 on good shooting.  They have to figure they can take this team the distance and if either guy is off, they're gonna take advantage.

40-18-9, a performance I'm sure people will conveniently forget the next time they want to say Lebron doesn't show up for playoff games.

It's all moot for the Hest anyway. They're championship-or-bust, and SA/OKC just look head n shoulders above everyone else.
