THOR’S COMIC COLUMN 12/5

Let me know if my articles contribute to the site's comic discourse. I really enjoy writing them, but don't want them to be at the expense of the reviews. I have another one almost done right now about how monthly floppies will be affected by eReaders, and a couple more ideas (ex. Comic books in the classroom, and my experience teaching Alison Bechdel's Fun Home in my Composition 1 class).

Really enjoyed the other reviews this week.

5 Ronin sounds gimmicky, as I'm bothered by a text that is completely reliant on being aware of another text. Something I tried to convey in my article, for instance, is that Ultimate Marvel is not, in fact, accessible for new fans but is only read by old fans that get a kick out of it as a "What If" kind of scenario, in contrast to classic Marvel.

D.S. had a lot of good thoughts on why Green Lantern doesn't translate well to film, but may work well in animation. Theory of Everything was something I almost picked up, the Pilot Season concept is a great idea.

T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents looks silly, very '90s costume designs, but Graig convinced me this and the earlier issues are worth a look.

They add a lot and those articles sound interesting. I can't always post but this column is a highlight on the site and I always read it.
