Peter Weller. Star Trek 2. Stars align.

Peter Weller - Borg King...

I move all future articles refer to him as "PhD candidate in Italian Renaissance art history Peter Weller" until he completes his dissertation. It would only be fitting for the site that brought us Acting Sensation Mayor Ted Levine.

Good news on my book. Folks should check out that Enterprise two-parter with Weller, which he's great in. That was the true series finale for that show, and TV trek in general IMO.

He is also good in the History Channels Engineering An Empire. This movie has my eight to ten dollars.

Given the number of clowns on TV with Dr before their name already, I actually don't have a problem with calling him Doctor right now if you want.

It'll be awesome to see Weller on the big screen again..................especially in a tentpole picture!

I concur! My feelings towards this new TREK are mixed, but this appears to be another example of strong casting, like Bruce Greenwood turning up in the last entry

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES.. As long as there is no Khan ...  I can't wait to see Weller on screen again.

From what I can tell, it looks like you might end up being disappointed.

I've been hearing about the Khan stuff as well. I hope to hell the writers are not getting THAT lazy.  So would we have to wait for Star Trek 4 for the members of the crew to take a trip back in time for some hilarious adventures in 2013 San Francisco?!

Great news. Weller is awesome, and it'be great seeing him in a blockbuster sci-fi film again. Abrams certainly doesn't seem to be skimping on the casting so far.

I won't get into the rumor "details" since there is a pending article on the way, but the current scuttlebutt surrounding the film is suggesting that there are two villains in the new one.  So, assuming the rumors are true, we aren't exactly getting a remake of Space Seed or Wrath of Khan.

This is hypothesizing that that Del Toro is out but Khan seems to be in, referencing the timing of Del Toro's pulling out (Wednesday) and Abrams comments that "Del Toro isn't Khan" (Friday).

If they are going to use Khan, against all common sense and better judgment, I hope they at least come up with something halfway original and find someone who can appropriately fill Montelban's shoes, as unlikely as it seems.

Also, on topic, I'm pretty excited about Weller being in it.  Very curious as to what he'll have to work with.

He should play Robocop and make all those crappy crossover comics come true.

Seriously though this is steller casting.

Remember, Abrams only denied that Del Toro was playing Khan....................not that Khan was in the film.

Casting suggestion? Ashraf Barhom for the part of Khan (if we are going to toss the Sikh thing out the airlock)
