Hellfest? HELL YES!

A Marshal directed slasher movie? Sign me up for two, please.

My favorite current genre director right now.   Psyched.

I'm not a huge fan of slasher movies, truth be told, but Marshal's involvement means that I'll be eagerly anticipating the release all the same

PS I just wish someone would give him some money and let him play in a larger sandbox. I hope to see a 100 million dollar Neil Marshal movie before I go to join my ancestors in that dark house they call Hades

I am so in.  I just adored Doomsday and The Descent and Dog Soldiers weren't bad either.  The premise sounds like it could be a lot of fun.  Go Neil!!!!!

Sounds like an aborted Saw sequel.

What kind of amusement park is this? Is this serial killer picking off people ten at a time or something?

Centurion was an original script?

Yes it was.

Marshall doing a slasher film is great news and even better news it's not a remake/reboot/reimagining of any kind.   Bring on the hapless victims and gory over the top kills!

Feels like a step backward. Marshall should be going more A list, not continuing his B-movie homage-athon. I say that as a fan.

Yes he should. But sadly he is being ignored. I'd rather he keeps making movies than having stuff shut down left and right.

I would have loved to see any one of those movies (Predators, Conan the Barbarian, The Wolverine, Dune) directed by him.

I have to admit, while I dug Dog Soldiers and 2/3's or so of Doomsday, Centurion left me pretty flat (it looked great, just not much going on upstairs). That being said, the man knows spectacle, and nothing demands spectacle like schlocky horror, so I'm pumped.

The man has been attempting this constantly over the past few years and has been shut down every time.  Directing Hellfest might be a step backward, but at least it is a step..................which is something the man hasn't managed to do since he made Centurion.  If continuing to plug away at low budget genre fare for awhile is what it is going to take to get Marshall on the A-list, then he should go for it.

Besides, the man unfortunately needs some hits under his belt.  With the exception of The Descent, nothing he has done has really made a splash in terms of financial success.  Even Carpenter had to make five or six films before he started getting nice-sized budgets to play with.

I'm not blaming him, just lamenting. And doing a slasher film definitely isn't going to curb those incessant Carpenter comparisons, which aren't helping his career too much...
