'Dagon'. March 1st. Broadcast premiere. Very happy about this, even if it will be cut to shit, at least a broader audience will finally get to see it. Tell your fiends.

Good ol' SciFi.

What interests me more than how much nudity and gore they'll cut is how much of Francisco Rabal's butchery (of english, that is) will be removed.

Hey alright! I've always been too lazy to rent it! And it airs on the birthday. Kickass.Though now I HAVE to rent the dvd to laugh at the edits.

That's what I'm hoping for. They leave just enough in to let people realize what might be there, then they rush out and rent it, stores can't keep it on the shelves, and Lions Gate gives the go-ahead to a MASSIVE special edition re-release!!!!

Sorry..I just love this fucking movie.

Although the one now is quite packed, so I'm not sure what another DVD could add, aside maybe some more documentaries etc.

You lucky United Statsians and your SCI-FI, give me the Canadian crappy knock-off SPACE anyday!

...on second thought, umm... no.

Do you realize that today is actually an anniversary? It has been 10 days since the Sci-Fi Channel last showed KOMODO. Starting counting the days until the next time it airs which will probably be any minute now. I swear, they run that movie like the Turner networks run JAWS!

The DVD for Komodo actually just dropped in price a tonne at my store. You can aquire your very own copy for just $6.99 Canadian currency.

I have to second the comment that the current R1 Dagon DVD is so good that it's hard to imagine how an SE could better it.

It's not really about getting a beter DVD, to be honest, it's about Lions Gate realzing how popular this movie is and giving it a better DVD release, which will give it more exposure and more people will go "Hmmm..maybe I'll check that out" and soon it becomes the classic is has every right to be.

Perhaps I'm a bit overzealous? Maybe. And I would have no problem with a more feature-packed DVD, despite the fact the currecnt on is pretty spiffy.

Today im quite pleased with SciFi. They had a Kolchak the Night Stalker marathon on today. Now I'm hooked on that show.

I went and bought Dog Soldiers because I saw it on Sci-Fi. I'm sure a lot of people will seek out the Dagon DVD next week after they view it on TV. I'm not quite sure how much will be left of the ending after Sci-Fi cuts it but they did show plenty of gore with Dog Soldiers.
I first saw Dog Soldiers on SciFi and I noticed that it was pretty gory. When the DVD came out I rented that and it was almost an Identical movie. I'm wondering if they will cut the crap out of Dagon or keep it as is without the nudity. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Dagon was a great flick
post #14 of 23
Well if they follow FX's influence, theyl show movies when they premiere with lots of gore left in.
Since when do FX leave the gore in? Halloween H20 was cut to ribbons. They didn't even show the corpses.
Well, take Starship Troopers for instance.
pardon me if i've missed a newer post on this topic but, did anyone watch it? how bad was it hacked?
I saw it, but this is the first time I've EVER been able to see it, so I can't tell you how bad it was chopped up.

Pretty awesome movie, by the way. Now I have to fish change out from under the fridge so I can buy it..
I saw it several months ago on DVD. Very good movie, probably going to be edited heavy on Sci Fi though. There are a number of scenes I can see getting the cut.
Missed it. Hope this gets a repeat soon...

Two words: Fullscreen Sucks.

They treated the parts I saw with a fairly light hand. I'll have to check, but I even think they left some female anatomy in that I'm pretty sure is a no-no.
Well, the face peeling scene was not going to make it in. They go in with the knife and that was the end. Not even a hint of cutting. Barbara's ripped off arms were nowhere to be seen either. They used the full screen version of the movie though. That was too bad. Dog Soldiers and a lot of other movies get shown in widescreen but poor Dagon was chopped.

I knew it was a good idea to not watch the Sci Fi Channel version.
