I have a question AND a comment!

Yeah, watching too much Sally Jesse Raphael as of late....

OK...

My Girlfriend had a nightmare about a bigfoot like thing the other night that really freaked her out...I guess she had too much junk food before bed... wink

So me being the horror geek that I am, I remember a fake "In Search of" like documentary film in the 70s about a bigfoot like creature...
And one of the best/spookiest scenes of the film is when the guide and doc film maker are in a cabin and hear banging on the roof, so they look out the window and sillouetted
in the moonlight is a bigfoot creature on thehill above the cabin throwing rocks at it...

Now this was 1970 something and it scared me as a kid...

The movie I remembered was "The Legend of Boggy Creek". Or so I thought...
Was in Best Buy today and actually saw it on the shelf and scooped it up to make her watch it-you know- relive those traumatic nightmares and stuff...Hey, I am a nice boyfriend wink .
Got back to work and went onto IMDB and checked some of the reviews for LoBC to see if it held up after all of the years...and they had some spoilers and stuff and there was no mention of the "cabin attack".
So now I am wondering if there was another movie in the same vien as this...(and I KNOW it was not the crappy sequels...).
I am going to check it out tonight so I could be writing this for no reason, but what the hey, It is slow day at work...But if anyone knows what I am talking about please let me know...

Oh yeah, the comment...The Newbury Comics by my work always breaks street date on Dvds...I picked up the Ring at lunch...And it lists an "never before seen short film by Gore Verbinski exclusively for the
video release that reveals more electifying secrets about the mystery of the Ring"

cool.

Saw that movie in the theater. As I recall, it was called SASQUATCH!

Yes, Mr.boy, if you ever read the Corner you would know that, for a while at least, that was the only feature Dreamworks had announced for the disc, which we have heartily reported on.

Pansy. Afraid of Bigfoot. That's like Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' video scaring you when you were a kid. Oh, wait...that was me...

funniest moment in the original Boggy Creek is when we meet the old guy who accidentally shot himself in the foot once.

That dude getting attacked while on the crapper is pretty hilarious too.

Yup...Watched most of it last night...
Pretty much crap. I can understand how it scared me as a kid. Some really great creepy atmosphere, but then the actors/residents actually speak...and ruin the whole movie...

Also- on the comment of the RING dvd...

Haven't watched the actual movie again, and have not seen it since the theatre, but the "Short Film" that is on there...seems to be a 8 minute version of the key points of the film...Not much more there...Was hoping for something original on this weak feature..

BUT....

Did find an easter egg on the DVD....

SPOILER.......

Not really but...Hit the up arrow on your remote on the PLAY MOVIE option and hit enter after the cursor dissappears and you get the infamous "cursed video" in its entirety, and if that was not cool enough, one the main menu comes back....the sound of a phone ringing starts.....

very cool little feature...

And do not watch the trailer section if you have not seen the film as the original RINGU trailer is there and is very very spoiler filled... GOD! I hate that

I love all those old Bigfoot movies. Another great one worth checking out is The Creature from Black Lake. A couple of college students going out on the hunt for a Bigfoot that's terrorizing a bunch of hillbillies. Jack Elam kicks much ass in this movie.

"Sasquatch: The Legend of Bigfoot" is another goodie. Hard to find, but.
