Well, a "Lot" remake is old news (we broke an exclusive story on it about a year back) but the Lowe thing is a bit of news we'll be reporting in our evening update. Not sure about this "Soul Survivors" thing since the film is credited to be directed by another guy, Stephen Carpenter. Unless the "Lot" guy did reshoots or something.

Rob Lowe is Ben Mears?

I can live with that.

I can't live with Rob Lowe in a horror movie. Besides, Tobe Hooper's version is untouchable.

Rob Lowe? So he'll be playing the struggling auteur with a fondness for pre-teen girls... who, uh, gets eaten by a vampire or something.

I just think it's amazing they were able to get Rob Lowe for less than <a href="http://www.creature-corner.com/news3/feb25salems.php3" target="_blank">$15</a> wink .

But seriously, I liked his portrayal of Nick Andros in The Stand. I thought it worked quite well.

Rob Lowe's too pouty and pretty. Bring back Hutch, I say.

I don't think Rob Lowe will be all that bad in theremake.i had great worries about his role in the Stand and totaly enjoyed what he brought, so casting him is not all that distressing, although i think i will also see the oringinal actor (was it David Saul?) in that spot.
What was the matter with the second half of Salem's Lot, or rather at what point did it turn to "crapola"? I loved it fromstart to finish and dont think it suffered anywheres along the way (did Romero do anything on Salems Lot? JUST KIDDING JUST KIDDING!!!) A barlow action figure would trulykick as! He scared the ever lovingshit out me when i first seen that flick! Him and the Zuni fetish doll would keep me awake all night long if they were sitting on my display case!

Holy sheeeet, just when I thought that there was nothing left to complain about: a longing for David Soul ...... Hey, where's Leif Garrett ?!?!?!?!

I'm not too fond of the original, so I welcome a remake with open arms. I kind of think Lowe will work out pretty good, provided the script doesn't stray too far from the story presented in the book by King. That was my problem with the original. That, and I though Barlow just looked too damn goofy.
