Getting Flac files to play on Itunes

Does anyone have any experience with this?  I downloaded XLD, but basically have no idea what to do after that.  I've had a pc my whole life, and I'm totally lost.  Any help would be much appreciated!

I use and recommend dBpoweramp music converter.

Thanks, I'll check that out.  Does it allow you to play flac files in itunes, or does it convert them to apple lossless files?

dBpoweramp is only a conversion tool but it can convert any audio file into anything. Format Factory is another pretty good conversion option.

Is dBpoweramp only compatible with windows?

Fluke is a Mac plugin that lets you listen to flac within itunes without converting.

I've never used XLD, but hear it and Max are good conversion tools.

In order to import FLAC to iTunes, import FLAC to iTunes, iTunes Match, and stream FLAC to iCloud, a recommended solution is to convert FLAC to Apple friendly audio formats so that you can play FLAC with iTunes, iPad, the new iPad 3, iPhone and iPod, etc Step by Step Guide on How to Import FLAC to iTunes at http://itunes-converter.blogspot.com/2012/02/flac-to-itunes-converter-how-to-import.html

I ended up just paying $25 dollars to install a program that was easy enough to operate.  Thanks for the tip though.
