Wow...this and Jennifer Aniston being named Sexiest Woman Of All Time? It really is 1997 all over again!

What madhouse named Aniston the sexiest woman of all time?

Looks terrible.

I'm a sucker for Will Smith, so hell, why not. I has to be better then the 2nd film right?.....right....

Will Smith can wake me up when he does some real acting. In the mean time, this looks boring and terrible. I'm sorry, but two seconds of Brolin can't assuage my disgust with Smith or change the fact I know this movie had a nightmare production (and isn't even finished)

Absolutely LOVE the first movie. Part 2 was fucking cock cancer. I'll see this when it's on Blu-ray.

I absolutely loved the first film as a wee lad (fine, I was 16, but still...) so here's hoping this is the sequel I've been waiting for.  I doubt it, but trying to remain optimistic.

Does this open the possibility of an interpretation of No Country For Old Men, where Llewelyn and the sheriff are the same person?

Looks great.

I still mimic Vincent D'Onofrio's Edgar-suit performance to this day.

"Give me... SUGAR.  Unnngh... in WATER."

The Trailer looks...Cool!  MIB III should be a good way to cap off the series.  Hopefully Will Smith will return to...Bad Boys Next!

Barry Sonnenfeld was brilliant cinematographer who gave it up to be mediocre (at best) director. I wish he would go back to what he was best at. The guy shot the first three Coen Bros. movies for God's sake.

Levrock, Well Barry Sonnefeld did direct 2...Addams Family films with Raul Julia as Gomez, which are...Awesome!  I will take those and the upcoming MIB III over...Any Coen Bros Film!

Duke, you should definitely not take MIB III over any Coen Bros film, unless it is INTOLERABLE CRUELTY. But, I'd otherwise agree with the sentiment -- the first two ADDAMS FAMILY movies, GET SHORTY and the first MEN IN BLACK are very good films. After that Sonnenfeld dies off, fast and hard and messy. But those films are sexy.

I'm with everyone else in saying the first one is great and the second one is dog shit. I'll give this a chance when it comes out.

Are they going 3D with this one? Because that time jump bit is the lamest setup for a 3D scene I have ever seen.

Aside from that it looked ok.

Interesting bit of trivia; Bill Pope (Army of Darkness, Spider-man 2&3, Matrix Trilogy, Team America, Scott Pilgrim etc...) is the DP on this and he served the same function on Barry Sonnenfeld's thesis film at NYU.

Joshua Miller, I don't like...Any, Coen Bros films!  So, I will be more excited for...MIB III!

I definitely agree. I remember an interview Sonnefeld did with Empire, I think, before MIB2 came out. He told a story from his time working as a cameraman for porn films. About how how he was filming an anal scene from under the actress and as the guy pulled out she explosively shat all over his face.

Little did I know, the story was prophetic about my subsequent cinematic experiences with his films.

This. To me MIB is such a quintessentially 90s thing it feels a little weird seeing smith in the suit again. Not sure how I feel about the time-travel aspect either; it feels a little 'Third Movie In A Row And Grasping For Ideas' for me, especially since this movie will be introducing a new generation of filmgoers to the MIB world. It feels like the time travel might be more than a distraction than anything. Then again, it is allowing Brolin to impersonate Tommy Lee Jones. From that quick peek it looks that might be at least one awesome thing to look forward to.

Wait, this film doesn't make any sense... Tommy Lee Jones was 51 in the first MiB. Josh Brolin is 43. Its set in 1969. It's not even like Josh Brolin is a young looking 43.

Other than that, this could be fun, but I suspect I'll be let down.

Did Smith age backwards?  He looks younger than he did in Bad Boys 2.

I like you Duke but you'll never convince me that RV is a worthy alternative to No Country for Old Men when I'm looking for something to watch. Robin Williams' award-worthy performance not withstanding.

Was thinking the same thing. I know that black don't crack, but it's ridiculous that he looks exactly like he did in INDEPENDENCE DAY.

Scientology youth chambers, maybe?

Or they pulled a Tron Legacy on him.

I guess never underestimate the power of makeup, lenses and lighting.

I'm amused that they're not even bothering to acknowledge it's been almost a decade since the last movie. Nope, just business as usual.

Bill Hader plays Andy Warhol in this. There, you now have a reason to watch this on HBO one day.

God damn it really? Between this and Brolin now I'm actually going to have to sit through this damn thing some day.

I saw the original film again for the first time in years. I like elements of the pciture, and Jones and Smith play well against one another (despite allegedly hating each other in real life), but every five minutes I expected an Emergency Broadcasting Message to beep across the screen with: "Attention: This film was made in the late 1990's. Do not be alarmed, the Spice Girls will not make a comeback, and Friends will not be renewed, this alert has been for educational purposes only."

Really? For almost the first time ever I thought he was looking puffy and old. The comparison with MIB 1 is not favorable

I'm a little happy to see Brolin cashing a check and still managing to do something somewhat interesting. Although I'm not at all sure how interesting a movie-long Tommy Lee Jones impression will actually be.

I'm thinking the trailer had the shock value and therefore got a laugh from me, and now it will just be irritatingly foisted on us in every piece of marketing until the movie comes out.

As a 10 year old that was a big fan of sci-fi flicks, MEN IN BLACK was pretty damn awesome. It's been years since I saw it, maybe I should revisit it someday. I missed out II in theaters for some reason, I forget why. Either way, I rented the sequel when it came out on DVD and it bored me to tears. I can't remember much of it beyond Boyle and Johnny Knoxville. I do remember being very disappointed in the absence of Linda Fiorentino. I see she's still not around this time, very disappointing.

I'll probably miss out on this one too.

I read a really early draft of the script something like a year and a half ago, and that was a gag.  That K's 25 but looks 45.

That sounds so fucking woeful. I know continuity matters squat and I don't really care, but they showed him looking 25 in the second film's flashbacks.

I'm just never going to be able to shake the idea that this film should be set in 1990.

I have nothing more insightful than the trailer doesn't make me want to see the movie.

This movie was being re-written on set during production by a number of big ticket screenwriters.

Continuity is the least of their worries.

Oh, and another reason to possibly see this: Jemaine Clement is the villain.

See, that's exactly why I won't want to see this. I'd rather they had a credible villain and then jokes come from fucking around with Smith and Brolin/Jones.

They had a cartoon series that was pretty solid.  It's not like it's impossible to come up with good concepts for how to continue the series.

I remember really liking the cartoon, had a 'Real Ghostbusters' vibe to it. Far more imaginative than the second film.

The cartoon even had an episode where J accidentally neurolizes K that does more with the concept in 22 minutes than the entirety of MIB II did. Really awesome cartoon, actually; I long pondered why they didn't just take the Alpha storyline from there and use that as a springboard for a third film. It'd certainly do things like open the concept up to a fresh approach.

For all the amped-to-11-ness of the trailer, really, it was just the simple deadpan of Josh Brolin that made me chuckle. All that money, and all it really takes is some good timing.

I think the most troubling part of this teaser is that it seems like J is still acting like this is his second week on the job; all "I make this look goooooood" instead of being going on year fourteen of doing nothing but working for MIB morning, noon, and night with no identity. The toll it takes on a person after so long was one of my favorite bits in the first film, and why K's character worked so well. But no, for J, this job is like teflon; nothing sticks to him. And that just feels BORING.

There is no point to this movie unless it's about a role reversal in their relationship. J in K's role and vice versa. If they don't go there it's just going to be bunch of pop culture jokes and action scenes with bad CGI. Which it will probably end up being.

I'm not sure I even saw it, but wasn't that the point of the second one? Smith being the one with experience and Jones being the sceptic?

So yeah, pop culture jokes and bad CGI it is.

I was going more for Smith as the grizzled vet and Brolin as the rookie type of deal. Not the amnesia plot from the second one.

I think that "You'll only take my weapon from my cold dead hands/Your terms are acceptable" exchange was the only time I laughed in both films. Doubt I'll be back for Part 3.

Tommy Lee Jones hates everybody?

The guy doesn't suffer fools, and he's gone on record saying he took a number of HUGE paychecks in the late nineties and early aughts that he HATED. This was around the time he did The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.

And since no one saw that, here we are again. Poor TLJ.
