i hate this unrealistic physics bullshit, like crashing cars somehow getting an upwards impulse. Or that explosion that throws Cruise sideways in MI:3

Yes movies are about suspension of disbelief. More so action movies.

But when it is too obviously unrealistic it takes you out of the film. And my main point: It is just not necessary!

If an action scene is staged "realistically" (and i'm using this term VERY loosely) you care about the people. If it is too unrealistic, you can't be immersed. *cough* Transformers 3 *cough*

Films like the INDIANA JONES-Movies or RONIN, or HEAT or, well the first film from the last years that comes to mind where i liked the action (minus the flying cars) is THE KINGDOM. Nothing special. But staged well.

Oh and i always wanted to stage an action scene in the mist on a highway in Hamburg. So maybe that is why i am not a big fan of this scene ;-)
