So what do you guys think are among the best Dracula films out there, and the best films that deal with Vampires? Lets put them in 2 separate categories. Heres mine:

BEST DRAC FILMS:

Coppola's Dracula '92
Dracula '31
Nosferatu '22
Nosferatu '79
Horror of Dracula '58

BEST VAMP FILMS:

Fright Night
Fright Night 2 (I just think this sequel is awesome, but alot of people tend to disagree)
Salem's Lot
Lost Boys (Cheesy, I know, but I still dig it)

Lets hear yours....

Well Gruber there is something we agree on. I wont say its the best vamp flick ever, but I do like it quite a bit. I think its highly underrated.

However its sequel with Jon Bon Jovi was barf-worthy.

It also featured Family Matter's Darius McCrary... getting a blowjob from a vampire. I laughed so hard at his face's expression as he is recieving it I had to rewind it multiple times.

I don't post here (Creature Corner)much, but I really like Vampire movies so I thought I'd join in.

My favorite Dracula movie would have to be Bram Stoker's Dracula, in spite of Keanu. Least favorite is Drac 2000.

Vampire movies overall, I really like Near Dark. I also liked Interview with the Vampire. It inspired me to read the book, which I liked enought to read a few of the sequels. I haven't seen it for a while, but I remember liking Embrace of the Vampire a lot. I don't know if that is due to Lilly Tyler or Alyssa Milano. I really disliked John Carpenter's Vampires.

Best :
Interview with the Vampire
Shadow of the Vampire
Coppola´s Dracula < best dracula movie
JC Vampires
Blade
Blade II

Nosferatu

Worst :
Embrace of the Vampire
The Forsaken
Dracula - Dead and Loving it
Vampire in Brooklyn
Queen of the Damned
From Dusk til Dawn 1, 2 and 3
Bordello of Blood

Dracula 200... lolol... eh. I almost really typed that.

Moving on...

VAMPIRE FLICKS:
Near Dark
Nadja
The Addiction (With my man Chris Walken!)
Interview
Blade II (for that urban-gore Del Toro touch)
and in the same fun-vein (heh), From Dusk 'Til Dawn.

I completely forgot about Nadja. That's a good one, too.

How bad is the one with Carmen Electra? I haven't seen it, or Queen of the Damned.

The Lost Boys
Fright Night
From Dusk Til Dawn I, II
Nightwarriors:The Darkstalkers' Revenge(anime)

To me Blade is the worst vampire movie ever. Given the script it could have been brilliant but it's boring and Wesley Snipes looks stiffer than ever.

Let us not forget Polanski's brilliant vampire comedy, The Fearless Vampire Killers (or Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are In My Neck). Not only is hit hilarious, but it's got some breathtaking imagery and terrific performances by Polanksi himself and his beautiful (now deceased, thanks to Mr. Manson) wife, Sharon Tate. Highly recommended!

Best Dracula:

Dracula. (1931) Ya just can't go wrong with Lugosi...

Nosferatu. (1922) Max Schrek haunts me still...

Horror of Dracula. Christopher Lee was the one of the most terrifying vampires I had ever seen. He's almost 9 feet tall....

Best Vampire movies:

Near Dark. One of the most original vampire movies I've ever seen.

Lifeforce. See above.

John Carpenter's Vampires. Dug it.

Lost Boys. What's not to love about this movie? Jami Gertz was hot....

Shadow of the Vampire. Creepy. Just creepy...

From Dusk til Dawn. Badass. The most fun vampire movie ever.

Fright Night. Filled with cheesey goodness.

Vamp. Another cheesey movie, but Grace Jones made that whole movie worthwhile. I can't help but laugh when I watch it now.

That's it folks. There's my list.

I can get behind pretty much all of Dances With Chainsaws's list. I also might mention:

Martin (Romero) -- not without its flaws, but an interesting take on the vampire myth, trying to do something original with what was already a tired and predictable genre in the 70s.

Nobody's talked about the bad ones (perhaps because there are so many), but for my money the worst vampire flick I've seen in recent years was Modern Vampires . I should have known that no good could come of a flick with Casper Van Diem starring , but I had a crush on Natasha Gregson Wagner at the time, and thought it might be fun. Couldn't have been more wrong.

I can't decide which list to put Howling VI: The Freaks in. It was awful, but I loved it. Vampire vs. Werewolf--I mean, come on.

Whoops...misread the thread title. I thought we were looking for "best" and "worst" vamp flicks. That explains why no one was listing bad ones...
I'll ditto Dances with Chainsaws list plus add;

-Blood, the last vampire.
-Interview with a vampire.
-Salem's Lot.
-Blade I & II.

And in the incredibly bad add:

-Reign in darkness.

Cheers!

Favorite Vampire flick will always be Salem's Lot. If only because it dispensed with all the eroticism bullshit, and actually made vampires SCARY for once.

Another good one is the first Kolchak/Night Stalker movie. Janos Skorzny's vicious eyes haunted my dreams as a kid.

I also liked Innocent Blood ...but again I think it was a crush thing.
There was an excellent Dracula adaption in the mid 1970s, starring Louis Jourdan as the Count and Frank Finlay as Van Helsing. IMO it's comparable to the Universal and Hammer stuff, really high quality. It shows on PBS around Halloween I think.

The Night Stalker and Lugosi's Dracula are the first two vampire movies I saw as a child and both are sentimental favs for me.

what did anyone think of the nightflyer?
Night Flier is a damn fine little movie. An interesting take on vampires. I have it on DVD.

Honestly, I am not much of a fan of vampire movies. Some vamp flicks I do like are: From Dusk till Dawn 1 and 3 (not 2 - shudder -), Fright Night, Blade 1 and 2 (as action films) and Salem's Lot (although I haven't seen it in forever).

I'm not a fan of Dracula 2000, Vampires, Vampire in Brooklyn or Innocent Blood.

I'm pretty apathetic towards most vampire films, but one of these days I need to see Near Dark!

Dracula flicks: Bram Stoker's Dracula, Nosferatu (orig).

Vampire flicks: Salem's Lot, Near Dark, Blade.
I've only got two vampire flicks I really like. Nosferatu (remake, I have no way of getting the original), and Salem's Lot. Why? The vampires in these two movies aren't horribly modernized. They're like the vampires from the original myths and legends, which I've studied (but mostly forgot, stupid memory).. They're ugly, nasty, and mean. Kurt Barlow will always be one of me favorite movie monsters.

And.. Back when it first came out, my friend forced me to watch Dracula 2000 with her. Auugh. I hated it, she loved it. I told her that she should have rented Return of the Living Dead, instead.

We have this unending Zombie/Vampire argument going. I'm sure you can tell, I'm not a big vampire movie fan.

Oh, yeah. The Reapers in Blade 2 rocked my world. The rest of the movie, though.. Yeeuch.
