Audience reactions to a Movie Trailer or Poster

Thread Starter

Just wondering if anyone has any interesting stories on audience reactions to a Trailer or a Movie Poster/Standee.

For me

The Expendables Trailer

"Where's Van Damme?"

"Steven Seagal isn't in this?"

The Phantom Menace 3D Poster

"WHAT IS THIS SHIT??"

Vampires Suck

(I was listening to 2 girls riding up an escalator)

"Looks funny! Have to watch that!"

Not during a trailer but one audience reaction that I enjoyed immensely was during King Kong.

Naomi Watts is laying down on a tree trunk to hide from a giant lizard and we pan slowly across the face of a very still V-Rex...

*grown man sat directly in front of me gasps, in awe*

"Look at those teeth!"

This made me guffaw quite a bit and probably ruined the tension for the immediate rows. My apologies.

One of the previews I watched while waiting for Tintin to start today was for Phantom Menace 3D. The audience (mostly families with small children) cheered, and one woman behind me assured her kid that his Birthday present was set!

Though not a trailer reaction, this audience comment cracks me up.

The movie: Unbreakable

At the end of the film, when Bruce Willis is walking toward camera & the written epilogue summarizing the fates of David Dunn & Mr. Glass appears onscreen. I hear a woman in the theater loudly ask, "Is this a true story?!".
