Hmm. That was an interesting double typo.

No love for Serkis' performance in Apes?

Yeah. What's up with that? It's enough knowing that his work despite being worthy of all recognition available will go unloved both by his peers and the awards. Not by us geeks, too.

Unless you didn't think it was good enough, in which case I'm cool with it.

Your Highness is what happens when people get too comfortable working with one another, and no one has the balls to take charge and tighten things up.

To future studio heads, don't give a bunch of pot heads $49.9 million to make a movie without some sort of supervision.

I thought Serkis did a great job, but I guess I'm just not on the "give the man an Oscar nod" train. I don't think that's an insult to him or the performance, but if I look objectively past the tech-related element of the performance (which is what is so impressive) at what I simply saw on screen, my socks still remained on my feet. Now that I'm saying it here, I kind of wish I had (and may edit the article) given a shout out to Serkis and the animation department for their combined effort. Cause I think just singling him out is a little misleading to what went into what we saw. Yup, I'm gonna edit it.

Caesar says "No" was definately my stand out cinema moment of the year.

I haven't heard an audience gasp at a scene like that since Regan says "Jesus fuck me".

Great article!

Not everyone saw it, but multiply how good Bacon is playing a villain in First Class x 20. Thats him in Super. I'd go with that.

Im all sorts of down with including David Carr, though. Man's a total badass in that doc, without a single act of violence.

Was just listening to Rainn Wilson on WTF With Marc Maron and it reminded me that I needed to put that on my queue. Where it now waits.

I wish I hadn't been reminded how much of a bummer Your Highness turned out to be but I'm glad you reminded me how much I loved that dust storm scene in MI4. And that I need to see Rango.

If there's one semi-glaring omission it's the performances from Warrior which many writers have singled out but it's not on your Top 15, Honorable Mentions or Films I MIssed so I assume you saw it but just didn't dig it?

Actually I haven't seen it. And simply forgot to list it in my "Haven't seen" section. That has been amended!
