QuickBooks Pro? Any accountants out there?

I am having a slight problem downloading banking information and was wondering if we have any Chewers who are accountants or who have intimate knowledge of QuickBooks.

 

I have QB Pro 2008 and have recently been unable to download my banking information to import into my business checking account.  It appears from what I have been able to find that the file type has been changed from .QBO to .QFX and 2008 is possibly unsupported by the file change.  I cannot confirm this as being the cause of my problems though.

 

I know that for Payroll usage 2008 is no longer supported and an upgrade is necessary but I do not utilize the payroll function for my office.  Anyone out there know if the banking info changes have been wrapped up in this to force a broader upgrade?

I can't get the link to open in Chrome or Firefox but needless to say I ended up having to purchase an updated version.  Thank you though for the help.
