Work It

We've been spoiled by this "golden age" of television, to the point where some of us have forgotten about genuine, true blue AWFUL TV shows. Well, it sounds like we've got one.

This review is incredible. I can't believe ABC is going to air this.

I will sadly miss this tonight, though I hope it's on Hulu. SOMEONE has to watch this and report back.

I honestly do not know how that can get to the point that it is broadcast to people. Shouldn't it have been completely laughed off by every person who had anything to do with it? Wasn't there someone who could step up and say No. I just don't understand.

So it's an awful awful remake of Bosom Buddies?

Hey, don't knock it.  This "same" premise brought us one of the most famous actors of the past 30 years.

*EDIT*  Damn you Fahrvergnügen!!

I suggest burning this thread to the ground, thereby eliminating even any discussion of this show.

I won't bother to explain the circumstances under which this came to be on in the house last night, but it was, and it was as awful, uncomfortable, and obvious as you'd expect.  This would have felt dated in the '90s.  It's hard to imagine even the most homophobic, misogynistic, lowest common denominator, guys-guy even finding anything to enjoy in this piece of shit.

On the podcast Nooner with Dan and Marty, they interviewed Andrew Reich, the creator of this show. It's a pretty interesting listen (at least to me) because he had two shows set up, one being an incredibly person show and the other being this, and the network definitely went with this one. It's also incredibly interesting to listen to him dealing with the backlash and him jumping through mental hoops in order to justify the show to himself. Highly suggest that you listen to the show.

Rob Schneider sitcom alert (thought this would be the best thread to post this):

In his new sitcom, 'Rob,' which arrives Jan. 12, everything seems to be going well for Rob Schneider's character. At first.

After a whirlwind romance, the landscape architect ends his bachelor status by eloping with a gorgeous woman named Maggie (Claudia Bassols). Then comes the hard part -- winning over Maggie's overprotective, close-knit, Mexican-American family.

"Rob" has Eugenio Derbez, who was SOMEHOW the least watchable thing about Jack And Jill.

You couldn't pay me.

But there will probably be jokes about chorizo and pinatas and all kind of funny Mexican stuff! And Rob Schneider! This could be classic.

wow this thread was already in the dumpster and you had to throw Rob Schneider in. I need to shower.

I saw a commercial.  I'm assuming that they couldn't find 3 seconds of the show that wasn't racist so they threw in the items they considered least racist.

Well, that was fast: Cancelled.

I can keep this up all day.

Hey look, it's the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" ripoff starring Flavor Flav that only lasted one season! (if you listen, you can hear Malcolm X rolling in his grave)

I had seen bits and pieces of that show and it truly was astounding. But I've NEVER seen that INCREDIBLE intro.

Magnificent.
