Not sure how low the profile is for this movie. I'm guessing pretty fucking low.
Yeah, it's another one of those "mumblecore" type movies.
But this one is different. Things HAPPEN in it.
It's about this layabout slacker who reads old Sherlock stories and smokes pot in between menial jobs. One day, his ex disappears, and he stumbles upon an actual honest-to-god mystery. To the scene of the crime! To the library to decode the clues! To the smoking shop to buy a vintage pipe!
It's actually really, really, funny, and you end up surprisingly getting wrapped up in the mystery. Plus, the girls in this one are super adorable. The title refers to the almost overwhelming Pacific Northwest atmosphere, all rain and muggy windows and gray gray gray. It's a nice juxtaposition with these characters who have absolutely no idea what they're doing. Highly recommended.
