HULU HAS GONE HAYWIRE, SHOWS YOU FIRST 5 MINUTES…

See Gina Carano fuck Channing Tatum up, but good.

Yeah, the acting is exactly as you described. It's so distracting that I totally forgot your mention of brutality and was taken quite by surprise by the melee (which had great momentum/pacing). For a second I thought I was watching CYBER SOLDIER and SS had somehow slipped a DTV-quality Z-grade action flick into cinemas, but then the expertise kicked in. Really surprised this isn't getting a release like Zoe Bell's ANGEL OF DEATH, considering how SS likes to fiddle with distribution pioneering (unless that was a failure there then nevermind).

I'll probably see it, but I have to admit I sort of wish Carano was still punching people in the face for real.

I'm going to suggest there's over analysis going on because we know someone's a non-actor.  Frankly I think she's doing a bang up job there.  There's plenty of much worse that's been let slide into a Hollywood movie (my two touchstones are the chick in Godzilla and Lois Lane in Superman Returns and these are both supposedly proper actors with experience and who sound like they're reading cue cards in a highschool production.  Just rubbish.)

Bet that kid's wishing his chivalry instincts hadn't kicked in. (also, why didn't she take Tatum's car?  Too easy to track I suppose.  I'll never make it as a Bourne)

I'm going to pay good money to see this regardless of Carano's lack of acting chops (Cynthia Rothrock anyone?).

It's interesting to me that the scene played out with Gina ambushed and getting her ass thoroughly kicked until the kid comes in and buys time to "reset" and go on the offensive. And that final pistol whipping was surprisingly brutal...

Hey, Gina Carano isn't a total novice when it comes to acting.  She totally had a line in BLOOD AND BONE.

Sorry to say I think it's the opposite Muz, it seems like you're over-cutting Carano a lot of slack because you know she's a non-actor.

I really want them to be good but this doesn't make it look that way.

It's possible I guess.  There's stuff before Tatum arrives that's really telegraphed in a "I notice something OFF CAMERA.  It TROUBLES ME" kind of way.  In that stuff I can't help but think Soderberg should have just cut around it a little more.  Really good actors fall into that stuff as well.  After that I can't really say if what she does isn't just the way she reacts to this guy usually.  The delivery was fine.  The lines didn't land with a thud on my ears. Nothing particularly screamed non actor or bad actor to me really.  I also really bought that "You're not getting in the car are you?"  "No" bit.  So definitely not going to write her off before a couple more scenes at least.

I had this thought too to be honest. The flirty lip biting and ruffling hair might speak to some weird part of the past relationship of these two killers.
