Well, a search showed no thread for this and I remember this being some sorta tradition each year, so lets have a go at it; i'll get things rolling with a couple picks:
"Classiest homage/tribute in a film": Herge's cameo in "The adventures of Tintin"; brought a smile to my face, and couldnt help think it was handled with nothing but love and respect by Spielberg and Jackson.
"The "Still got it/just needed the right inspiration" award": The sea battle and the hawk chase sequences in "Tintin"; any doubts that Spielberg couldnt recapture his action/adventure chops after "Indy IV" dispelled with those two sequences alone.
"Surprise Musical moment of the year": The musical show in "Captain America"; absolutely fantastic and inspired as hell.
"Gold in the Cesspit award": 20th century Fox, for "X-men First Class" and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes"; how the hell those two movies didnt end up sucking judging from the studio's handling of its properties in the last years, i have no idea.
"Best Trailer for a 2012 film": "Prometheus". Fantastic editing and score, plus it did the thing any great trailer should; It got people talking and obssesing about every little bit or tease in it.
"Needless remake/sequel/prequel of the year": "The Thing". Souless, uninspired and full of missing opportunity, it even missed the very idea of what a prequel should be, by not expanding on the original or even paying homage to its source right.
