2012 Golden Globes (1/15/12) Semi-official Thread - Page 2

Nobody knows what's going on! Quick, show Emma Stone!

That Orci tweet @ Faraci is fucking epically funny.

What the hell is that?  And what does it have to do with the Golden Globes?

It was in reply to something Devin said about the Golden Globes. But I've no idea what it meant...

I wish someone would beat me about the penis and balls with this Blunt object.

This show is epically bad.  Someone needs to save it.

Next year, let Tina Fey and Jane Lynch host.

Matt LeBlanc is more shocked than I am.  I like him.  I miss this guy, good for him I guess.

So, Friends, Frasier, My So-Called Life, and Dawson's Creek are all doing really well tonight.

Yay for Claire Danes!

Yay for Thomas Jane's hat!

Yeah, his reaction was kind of touching.

There's going to be a great deal of funny .gifs by tomorrow. So many weird expressions.

Does anyone else think of Octavia Butler as the woman who signed up Peter Parker to the wrestling match in SPIDERMAN?

Pretty sure Shailene Woodley is nude. Need to google her age to determine my reaction to that.

Don't worry, she's 20.

I read the last two posts in the voice of two evil old white men sharing a nice steam.  Hehehe

Elton John's face is so puffy.

Holy shit, Reese Witherspoon!

Downton Abbey is this year's Cranford - Uppity high society British fare that is confusingly popular. I hope Steve Murphy is watching.

Tribute award.  Time for everyone to go make a sandwich!

I'm still so perplexed by the Downton love, is it ironic? Over here it's just a high gloss cheesy soap opera. It's like Dynasty or Dallas in frocks.

That was one hell of a speech for Morgan Freeman.  Sidney (EDIT:  thinking of the wrong actor...) and Christopher Plummer have been the best things about this evening.

Is Duke Fleed secretly Sidney Poitier?

Who writes this?  Are they fucking with the actors?

British accents + PBS = awards

I've liked most things Morgan Freeman has been in, but his granddaughter isn't one of them.

This is the same way I feel about the huge popularity of Korean dramas.  So I understand you being perplexed!  Hahahah

I really enjoyed the first season of the series and thought it was great, but recognized that it was basically a soap opera with classy production value.  But I still think it's done really well.

Fuck Korean dramas.  Buncha pretty boys shouting and screaming like Sean Penn in his Mystic River Oscar clip.

Also, they've referred to girls pooping their pants a few too many times on this awards show.

Philistines.

I would like Helen Mirren to "tout" me. *wink wink nudge nudge sex*

Yeah, that Bridesmaids reference wasn't funny the first time and its subsequent references have been even worse.

But she pooped! We don't talk about that! And it was in a sink! That's not where you poop! How could that ever get old?

Oh fuck, if Sidney and Morgan get too close they're going to merge like Voltron!

Natalie Portman is by far the most beautiful girl there tonight.  She's gorgeous.  Reese Witherspoon is a close second.

If Morgan doesn't wrap it up soon, Ben Kingsley is gonna fuck that broad right there at the table.

My wife is mad into Korean culture. Food, music, TV. I have to watch all of that shit and their terrible subs. Ojakgyo Family is the latest one. Though I will admit I do like "2 days & 1 Night" - it's like Top Gear without the cars edited by children with access to a 90's graphics machine.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed Kingsley getting his game on.

Warrior has a total lack of representation here.  Bullshit.

FUUUUUUCKYOOOOO!!!!

Of course, I base my prejudice against Korean dramas on almost nothing.  I haven't watched one for at least a decade.  But anytime I see them in the corner of my eye, they always look cheap and 'video-like.'

Yes.  I'm that shallow!

Is the Artist really as bad as it looks?  cuz it looks like a pile.

Oh shit!  It's Skeletor!

Good for Marty!

I'm old enough to remember when Angelina Jolie was hot.

The Artist is actually kind of great.  I had a LOT more fun in that movie than Tinker Tailor or fucking War Horse that's for sure.

Yes.

Yaaaaay Marty.

The Artist is very cute, charming and utterly disposable.

Orci posted 9/11 conspiracy bullshit on Twitter. On the 10 anniversary of 9/11. And Devin called him out on it.

So yeah...he can go fuck himself.

Wait, what did Gervais say? I'm so confused right now.

VERGARA AND SALMA MIGHT HUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you actually actively dislike the Artist you've got your own problems your bringing to it.  The movie is fun.

Probably he "couldn't fucking understand them".

Salma Hayek's boobs remain ridiculous.

No love lost for MISTER Tibbs, but my mind immediately compared his delivery to a less topical sphere than your observation:

I'm still behind, but I have to say...

Wow... Mirren really does go on and on with that right/left/wrong side of the road thing.  Jeeeez.

I think Devin's review summarized my problems with the film pretty thoroughly.  I can assure you that I didn't transfer any of my own issues into he viewing.

Michelle Pfeiffer.   Would still absolutely attack that.
