The first still from the new 007 film features stubble and gun so you can postpone suicide.

The stubble is growing on me, and I dig that neon lighting. It looks like it might have a more colorful palette after QOS too, which is welcomed.

Looks like a Walther (PPK, PP7, whatever), so that's cool... has he used one in his stint as Bond yet?  Can't recall.

Those neon lights remind me of Tokyo, oddly enough.  Is there a volcano base in our future?

Unless he just escaped from a North Korean holding cell again, that fool needs to march himself right back up to his hotel room & shave his bloody face.

As somewhat of a gun nut it bothers me seeing an agent of Bond's stature run around with a freakin' PPK. Did Her Majesty's secret service run out of flintlock pistols or something?

The Walther PPK was Bond's signature gun from DR. NO to TOMORROW NEVER DIES. Midway through TOMORROW NEVER DIES, Brosnan's Bond replaced his PPK with a Walther P99 and it became his sidearm for the rest of his tenure. CASINO ROYALE also had Craig's Bond use a P99 as his main sidearm. It was in QUANTUM OF SOLACE where Marc Forster decided to mark the return of the PPK as Bond's signature gun, and it looks like it will carry over to SKYFALL.

When Bond started he was using a .25.

Prefer Bond using the PPK myself.

I had no idea Walther was a German gun manufacturer.

You mean to tell me that MI6 provides Kraut guns to its field agents?!

Good enough for Travis Bickle, good enough for Bond.

I truly do not get the purpose of releasing pictures like this.  I get it with superhero flicks because everyone wants to see the suits and whatnot, but for a Bond movie?  Really?  Would anyone really miss them if we didn't get some Bond stills?  Lookit, I'll be your Bond insider and tell you what the next batch of stills will be:

One of M looking stern

One of token vagina #1

One of token vagina #2

Oh look, a car!

Oh look, Bond running from/to/after something/someone!

Oh look, a tux!

Something went BOOM!

Hooray.

Yes, but kind of a neat touch in Casino Royale that the gun he uses for his first kill (the bathroom flashback, so second in the pre-title sequence, but narratively his "first") using his target's gun - which was a PPK.
