Damn.  I wanted to see the Lord of the Rings take-off as well.  We might have still gotten that if Sandler had signed on Funny People style but if the Zohan writer is tagging along then this will definitely be Your Highness in candy.

I'm literally watching Funny People right now. I'm still waiting patiently for Sandler to make good on the promise of that film. 

 

Maybe he just wasn't in on the joke when Apatow had him do those fake films.

No, I think Sandler was in on the joke. I also think Adam genuinely hates the people that go to see his shitty films.

He probably hates them for refusing to go see the more serious fare he's done over the years.........................which is why he has completely flocked back to the most retarded projects imaginable.  They are what pay the bills, it's that simple.  In a few years, he might try again, but for now we're getting massive piles of shit.
