Jackson is to Def as De Niro is to...

Jackie Brown is my favorite QT movie.  Nothing can live up to its greatness.  But I love Elmore Leonard and the cast is perfect.  Could be good.

Yeah I just bought the blu-rays of Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction a couple months ago. After watching both of them again I was surprised that I now like Jackie Brown better. From the opening with the backa nd forth with Bridgette Fonda and Jackson to the scene where jackson has had it with Deniro it's perfection. Im thinking it's because of more Sam Jackson. Sam + Tarantino dialogue = perfection.

I agree that I cant see this measuring up.

I guess they changed the title because of that Jason Reitman and Jennifer Aniston flick of the same name. At least this isn't just a sequel and/or unnecessary prequel Elmore Leonard wrote on a whim (i.e. "Be Cool") but actually vintage work of his.

I really enjoyed the chemistry between De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson in "Jackie Brown"...so hopefully some of it is replicated here with new actors in the roles (best case scenario).

My favourite line in the movie was, "What the fuck happened to you, man? Shit, your ass used to be beautiful". The context of the line and the way Jackson delivered made that a perfect movie moment.

They probably couldn't squeeze in a Keaton cameo as ATF Agent Ray Nicolette cameo could they?

That is such a great line, and Samuel L. Jackson delivers it with the perfect combination of pathos and acceptance of what he has to do, but the movie is full of amazing moments.

Not who I'd cast (it will have a much different dynamic), but I'm intrigued by these guys in the roles nonetheless.

Ruthless People-esque

I'd say that sounds more than just "esque". Like maybe the writers of RUTHLESS PEOPLE lifted it wholesale.

Hope it's a worthy successor to JB, and not a crappy flick like BIG BOUNCE or BE COOL.

Of that, I have no doubt.  I toyed with having something in the piece along those lines, but figured it would be a little too much "rambling" (which I admittedly do from time to time).
