This is a link to Savini's online petition for him to direct 'Jason X'. I expect all you loyal horror fans to get your asses over there and sign it! http://discserver.snap.com/Indices/94515.html

What's he saying - 'snot fairy'?

Has Savini directed anything else besides NOTLD?

Savini's directed a couple episodes of Tales From The Darkside.

Personally I kinda hope he doesn't direct the film. If it was going to be a traditional Friday film, I'd love him to direct. However, the idea behind Jason X sounds ten times worse than that of Jason Goes to Hell. Seriously, is there anyone out there that doesn't think this film is doomed from the start, regardless of who's directing? I doubt that this film will in anyway further his career.

I want Jason back in Crystal Lake doing what he does best. Not some futuristic space-station crap.

Jim Issacs. I agree the plot sounds weak, but I can't believe no one is excited about this. Sure, Leprechaun 4 sucked, but that's because it was about a Leprechaun! This is motherfuckin Jason Vorhees! He's the bad assest of the bad ass killers, next to Michael Myers. If nothing else, there's gonna be a lot of naked chicks!

I'm willing to wait until I see the end result to pass judgement. I've never been a BIG fan of the series, but Jason is kinda cool. If a lot of people really really like the script, I'll hold off on damning the movie to Hell.

On the other hand, Critters in Space, Leprechaun in Space, and Akiva Goldsman in Space (Oops, sorry, that's "Lost in Space," my bad) have comepletely and utterly baffled me. I think the "In Space" bit could very likely be a disease, spreading out, infecting more and more and more of our favorite movies. I don't know about Jason, but Freddy in Space is where I'm gonna draw the line. I mean, if we can't keep our indestructable homicidal maniacs on Earth, what's next?

Norman Bates is..."Psycho in Space."

"MOTHER...oh, God, MOTHER! I shut it off! I shut off the self-destruct! MOTHER!"

...a little "Alien" nostalgia, there...

DJ, you forgot "Hellraiser:Bloodline", surely the most hopeful, yet most disappointing enty of the "in space" series. Did anyone acutually see Critters or Leprechaun in space? Didn't think so.

That reminds me, just before Halloween 6 came out, John Carpenter was asked if he'd ever consider making another Halloween film and he said something along the lines of that he wouldn't because there was nowhere to go with the story except send him up in space to kill a bunch of people. I don't know if this idea was ever at one time taken seriously or not, but I remember around the same time that Premiere magazine, in their upcoming films section, claimed that this would in fact be the plot of Halloween 6.

Heh, I did forget Hellraiser, didn't I? I guess I was just thinkin about how much fun it'd be to cross that with Lost in Space. My bad.

Yes, I DID see Critters 4. Geeze, what a puke fest.

Critters reminds me of a dream I had once. I'll tell you about that later...
