Guy's producing things overseas, acting, starting bidding wars...

The only thing I've seen from Roth, whether acting, writing, directing or producing, that I've liked, is Cabin Fever.  And even that movie isn't super amazing.  Hostel was fuck awful, I never bothered with part 2.  I honestly don't know what Tarantino sees in this guy.  Maybe they started out as wing men on the dating scene, like the same films, and QT in a cloud of marijuana smoke decided to start working with him.

Premise is alright I guess, but I don't think Roth should be allowed in front of the camera. He was just plain awful in Inglorious Basterds.

No he wasn't. He was just right. I guarantee you that those in the audience without a clue as to who Roth was thought he was great.

He was fine in Inglorious, I don't see the problem.  Not saying I liked him, he was merely good enough for the part.

Fuck this noise, Roth is great. If anything we need more of his kind nowadays.

I redact my previous statement. I like they guy as a director and a personality, but I felt he was too green to be given such a featured role. I would have given him B.J. Novak's role where he mainly would have had to react with snark. I just didn't buy him as intimidating or scary.
