See Renner follow in Damon's footsteps.

Generation X Jimmy Cagney takes it to the jerks! 2012!

Well, that definitely worked on me.  I'm now much more excited to see this.

And it looks like you can see the action scenes! Also some returning cast to make it blend with the other films, im in.

Yep, I'm on board.

The sequel can be Renner and Damon...teaming up!

Actually, my first nerdy fanboyish thought was that I want the two to be pitted against each other.  Damon's a boy scout.  Renner has an edge.  It could be done.

Looks good. And I don't get the complaints about the other movies' action. Especially ULTIMATUM.

I am really pleasantly surprised to say that looked like great fun and I'm completely onboard. I adore this action universe.

Truth is I have since softened my stance because it wasn't that bad and because I enjoy these films so much but at the end of the day I want to be able to see my action. As much as I love the Bourne films I hate the effect they have had on how Hollywood films fight scenes. To this day there are still so many that feel they have to shake the shit out of the camera to make it good. It doesn't make it feel real it just makes me want to shut it off. I always feel bad for the fight choreographer. They spend time developing and teaching the fight, the stars learn it and then you can't tell what the fuck is going on.

It's odd to me, how sometimes Greengrass was a master of using the shaky cam to its full potential, and other times it completely got away from him. I thought it was a great tool for sucking the audience into the plot and action in "Ultimatum" and "United 93". But it was absolutely headache inducing in "Supremacy" and "Green Zone". Specifically, that  one on one fight in "Supremacy" was completely unwatchable in terms of following the action.

Liking the way "Legacy" and Renner are looking, so far, though.

Looks great. Renner deserves a franchise of his own and this seems as good as anything.

Makes me wonder how Hansel & Gretel is going to turn out then.

Hmm, looks interesting. I do need to see the first three again sometime, it's been years.

I'd completely forgotten about this film. And there it suddenly is! Love the original three. Trailer sold me on this one.

I seriously doubt Damon will ever set foot on a Tony Gilroy set.

"It's really the studio's fault for putting themselves in that position," Damon said. "I don't blame Tony for taking a boatload of money and handing in what he handed in. It's just that it was unreadable. This is a career-ender. I mean, I could put this thing up on eBay and it would be game over for that dude. It's terrible. It's really embarrassing. He was having a go, basically, and he took his money and left."

"We had a start date. Like, 'It's coming out August of next year.' We're like, 'Hang on, we've got to figure out what the script is,'"

"The word on 'Bourne' was that it was supposed to be a turkey," Damon said. "It's very rare that a movie comes out a year late, has four rounds of reshoots, and it's good. So Tony Gilroy arbitrated against himself to not be the writer with sole credit."

GQ magazine, they were talking about the problems on Bourne Ultimatum.  Damon apologized later, said it was beef between him and Gilroy and didn't need to be in the press.

Loved the first 3 and after seeing this my interest is peaked. But I still get the feeling this one is gonna be nothing but a big bucket of meh.

That's a pretty solid trailer right there.

But once again... BUUUUUUUURM.  Dammit, Inception-trailer...

Is John Powell coming back to score this one?  Hope so.

It honestly looks like a direct-to-DVD spinoff. "And now... A NEW Scorpion King rises! Starring Ron Perlman, Stacy Keach, the WWE's Chyna, Kristianna Loken, Clint Howard, Joan Allen, and Jeremy Renner as the New Jason Bourne Treadstone Agent!"

Guess it's time for a confession: My entire experience of the Bourne trilogy has been seeing maybe 40% of the first one on TV. I know, I need to catch up.

That aside, cool trailer. Loved the 'shifting panels' aesthetic and makes me kind of wish they'd stuck with it throughout. Pity it had to jump on the "BWAAAM! BWAAM! BOOOM! BOOOM!' bandwagon, but the Renner/Norton/Finney factor has me very interested. Liked the fire extinguisher gag, too.

Did he claim his name was Cath Kidston? You know, like the fine purveyor of post war British chic? http://www.cathkidston.co.uk/

Madness.

I'm aware of that interview with Damon, but I have another quote for you:  Money talks!

I also thought the idea of Renner and Damon being enemies would be interesting, but we're always seeing Bourne fighting alone, so it would be nice to see him team up with someone as smart as him.

Right there's our next man date - Bourne day at my house. They're the most satisfying trilogy to get released this side of Lord Of The Rings.

You're on. I should really stop reminding myself to catch up with them and finally watch them.

I feel like even if the plot doesn't live up to the potential of the series you can't really go wrong with Jeremy Renner out front.

Good to see the rest of the cast back as well, including Scott Glenn. I had forgotten he was in IDENTITY.

Renner out front with Norton, Allen, Strathain and Finney for backup? Yeah, they've got the benefit of the doubt from me at this stage.

I'm pretty sure those shots of Strathairn and Finney were lifts from Ultimatum.

Was that Rachel Weiz's voice as the nurse examining Renner?

Maybe, but they are both definitely in this movie.

Yeah.............Allen, Finney, Strathairn, and Glenn are all back.  Not sure how large all of their roles are, but they are back nonetheless.

As for Damon?  They're leaving the door open for him to return, but even in recent interviews he still seems to be sticking to his "I'll only come back if Greengrass directs" stance.  Basically, they're going to have to come up with an absolutely stellar story to nab them back.
