Returning a punt from the end zone?  Apparently the Bengals' theme this year is frustrating their fans.  Which I guess we should be used to.

I think most coaches go along the lines of "if you return a punt from the end zone, you'd better get a damn good return from it. Otherwise, go over to the other team's sideline."

Hey, even Tom Terrific has learned he wants no piece of that!  Not even supermodels can help.

And not to go oldish school, but New England knocking Denver out in 1996 made all the difference.

Yeah, but Brandon Tate only made it to the 10.  I'm starting to see why the Patriots cut this guy.  It was one of the few times I've seen Marvin Lewis look pissed instead of sadly resigned.

A win is a win, but man if it wasn't one of the most frustrating wins this year.  I think every point the Bengals scored was set up by a defensive takeaway in the Eagles' territory.  I don't care how banged up Pittsburgh is, this team needs to get serious before the next game.

Yeah, as the announcers pointed out, Cincy needs to win both of their next games--Pittsburgh and Baltimore--to make the playoffs.  Tall task indeed.

So I guess Rob Parker just feels like getting fired?  I mean, Christ, when you're on a show with Skip Bayless you have to be deliberately trying in order to stand out as a more offensive idiot.

Couple of ideas I had for you guys, while reading the article: Maybe a video? Even in text, you guys have a great rapport, and I'd love to see if that comes through in a more improvisational setting. And the second idea? You guys should most definitely do a live commentary on the Super Bowl, similar to what Nick does for the awards shows. I would follow along on my Droid the entire time.

I am up for any of these if Tom is, except the live commentary for the Superbowl.  I may be able to bring that to another editor here, but personally I am planning on going to the game.  I want to do what you guys want most.  Maybe attempt playoff podcasts if we can work out a time?

RG3 out today against the Browns. It certainly helps Cleveland's chances of winning, but I love watching that guy play.

Sure!  I'm around all through the rest of this year.  Don't know what is involved, etc., for the podcast setup.  Maybe a super-special Xmas episode or a New Year-stravaganza.

And fuck, Green Bay.  Try some tackling.

Apologizes ahead of time.  I have Rodgers and Jennings in a league, so I'd like some kind of offense here.  Ugh.

That hit on the defenseless reciever was clean.  I understand protecting players but what was the defender suppose to do?

Skol, Vikings. Good God, might we win another?

Wow, Atlanta is killing the Giants. The Falcons are tough at home, but I'm still surprised at how one-sided this is.

Cleveland leading at halftime against the Redskins. As long as the Redskins don't have Cousins run any play-fakes in the 2nd half, they might win.

The Broncos haven't lost since October 7th, and it looks like that won't change. The Ravens call offense like they have an elite QB and no running options, even though the exact opposite is the case.

Denver has been playing like how I predicted they would be after their bye. The only problem: Are they peaking too soon, going into the playoffs?

What has two thumbs and a depressed wine drunk? This guy. At least my girlfriend still has faith that the Giants can come back. I don't understand it, but she has the faith.

I'm glad that the Falcons are making someone pay for that embarrassment of a game last week.  Hopefully they can finish them off.

Quite possibly. If there's a team that's surging in the AFC, a la the Giants last year, I'd pick the Colts, who are somehow hanging with the Texans after getting killed for most of the first half.

Washington goes up quickly in the 3rd quarter, thanks in part to Weeden playing awful. BAH. I'm going to get beer.

As a Bear fan I would have picked the Packers.

Chavez-what will it take for Crosby to be cut?  You can't do this in a playoff game.

I don't have anything against Joe Flaco, in fact I like the guy but he put an absolute target on his back when he said this off season that was an "elite QB." He's proved the last few games that he's anything but. Flaco should never have made that statement and now he's paying for it with shitty play and getting his OC fired.  The Ravens going from one of the best defenses in the NFL to one of the worst certainly isn't helping the guy.

The Kirk Cousins era has begun! QB controversy in Washington! We must have a storyline! raaaaaarrrrgh

Lots of blow outs today. Weird. I just hope the Falcons keep pouring it on. I do so love it when the Giants lose.

Packers need their head examined for that trick play.  They are lucky to be playing the inept Bears

I'd like to know what Jeffries said to the ref to get these bull shit calls againt him.  I've seen far worse never called and you can go weeks without seeing an offensive Pass Interference called.

Slightly more amusing than the Indianapolis fan last week on Red Zone channel was - Danny Amendola spiking the ball and breaking some poor usher dude's glasses. Then he tried to make amends when, following a two-point conversion, gave the ball to the wrong guy.

Also - what's with all the crap defenseless receiver calls this week? Last I heard if the guy has the ball, he's not a defenseless receiver.

And - Jacksonville has a TD called back because OT Guy Whimper failed to report as an eligible receiver. Really?

I don't know, I'd have cut him 3 wks ago.

He was solid last week, but it looks like he's back in the gutter. If he's not gone by next week, I'm assuming he has compromising pictures of someone high up in the Packer offices.

Eh, from where I was sitting Jeffries got away with an egregious one (that grab of Shields' facemask that Shields got called for), had 2 legit PIs, and one ticky-tack PI called on him that worked as an "even-out" for the one that was missed.

Aikman's blathering at the end about Shields having hold on Jeffries was WAAAYYY overboard; did he have hold of the jersey? Yeah; did it impact Jeffries in any way? Seeing as he had both hands up to catch a punt-like throw that would've hit him square in the numbers, not so much.

The...Day Of The Dolphin is...Here!  The Hanging Chad was...HENNEpecked by the Dolphin D!  Tannehill ran for 60 yards, threw only...6 incomplete passes, no int's and 2 TDs!  Awesome!  Too bad Miami is out of the playoffs.

Good on the Broncos for taking this win. This was their first serious threat in a long time, and they shut the Ravens down in the second half. And damn if Moreno doesn't deserve to start next season. That kid is a fucking revelation.

And what the fuck is up here in Arizona? Are the Cards going to break their streak against the Lions?

If there's one team that can fuck up a sure thing, it's Detroit.

Seriously though, this season it seems like any team* can show up and knock the snot out of any other team with no rhyme or reason as to what the hell happened.

* - Chiefs/Raiders excepted; they can't even knock the snot out of each other this week

Love how the Vikings have figured out how to win again. I honestly didn't think we'd win any games in the second half of the season, so two in a row looks pretty damned nice right now.

Would the Bills be double-digit underdogs against the CFL Argonauts? Discuss.

They might be but they would at least be good for a push against the Chiefs.

Early reports state that Kyle Shanahan is teaching RG3 and Cousins the fusion dance.

And the NFC East continues to be 'huh?'

I've noticed something about overtime recently, you're either winning it within the first two minutes, or you're going all the way down to the wire.

Jim Barg, Fret Not, Miami is next!  The Dolphins truly have trouble...BUFFALOing the Bills!  Miami has but a...Wing and a Prayer in the game!

I said earlier that the Colts might be the team with momentum, but I was wrong. It's definitely the Seahawks.

Hot damn! It does absolutely nothing to help their season, but it was nice to see the home team win one, for once.

I don't think Adrian Peterson should win the MVP... he deserves something better. Is it too much to ask that the nfl make a one time only Most Valuable Comeback Player of the Year of All Time award?
You can ask, but they would probably just give it to Peyton anyways.

I'm still wondering what Green Bay was attempting in that trickeration.  Thank spaghetti they didn't cost the game with it, but NFC North champs is nice!  Now I'm hoping the Patriots (ugh) can do the job against the 49'ers and help us to the 2 seed.

And I'm winning my fantasy game to make the superbowl by 70, so yay.

Yeah, Peyton had 2 years to recover from his injury, Peterson recovered in like what, 5 months when the normal turn-around time is 9? And he has a very good chance of breaking a close to 30 year old rushing record? I'm not trying to take away from the good/great year Peyton is having but ADP's story is more compelling.

So after this weekend, the AFC North is up for grabs and the Bengals can control their own destiny in the next 2 weeks, with games against the Steelers and Ravens.  God, I hope the team in general and the offensive line in particular remember to show up.

Or the other 2 teams laying eggs.  I'd take that too.

I hope the Bengals win the North.  Anyone but Baltimore if the Steelers continue to suck like this.

I wasn't arguing that Peyton deserves it more. It just seems to me that he gets more coverage. But I totally agree with you.

The Colts hung around as long as they could, just not enough talent on the O line yet.  Vick Ballard is looking good.

So the 49'ers can't crack the Rams, but the Patriots are easy going.  Until the second half of course.  Good luck predicting the playoffs.
