2012-2013 NFL season - Page 48

The first two words of my reply agreed with you that it annoyed me.

There are a ton of guys in the NFL who are church going, pious folks. You don't hear them mentioning Jesus all the time, do you?

You can count on Jesus being thanked on television at least 10 times each NFL weekend.

Jaguars do not have PSL's. That was Richardson's brainchild in Carolina. It's strictly season ticket sales, no strings attached.

Not that it means anything, but the last place Chiefs had FIVE players selected to the Pro Bowl, and TWO of them (Tamba Hali and Eric Berry) are starters. In the AFC, only New England, Houston, and Baltimore had that many, and those 3 teams won their divisions.

I will love my Chiefs through anything, but even I admit that makes no sense.

Richard Sherman won his appeal. Now, the Seahawks will have their secondary at full strength for the playoffs. Big news for them.

Looking at the playoff picture as it stands, I think I can pinpoint the Superbowl favorites in each conference. Elite QBs win Superbowls and their are only a few in each conference once the playoffs start. The AFC is simple: it'll be wither the Pats or Broncos, Bardy or P. Manning- take your pick. In the NFC its A. Rodgers and maybe Matt Ryan, no Eli since the Giants won't make the playoffs. So I see a NE v. Green Bay Superbowl.

I love RG3, Andrew Luck, even Andy Dalton and Flacco. But the first 2 are rookies and Dalton and Flacco aren't elite, so they won't make it.

If Seattle gets a home game in the playoffs, they'll almost certainly win. They haven't won on the road yet, though. Still, with their secondary at full strength, they could be really interesting.

I agree with History Buff that the AFC boils down to Patriots-Broncos.

We beat Carolina and Buffalo on the road. Far from playoff caliber teams but we did get the wins.

I should have said "Beat good teams on the road", although that Buffalo "home" game in Toronto is a joke.

FYI, if AD runs for say, 250 yds and breaks the record, that still wouldn't be his best day as a pro.

Throw in 2-3 TDs in there and I'll take it...on my FFL team in the CHUD B League.

And I'll take a strained hammy in the first quarter please. Also for Russell Wilson to come back down to earth.

So if the Bears win they get to be humiliated by GB or San Fran next week.  I think I'll take the earlier draft slot.

Another great entry, guys.  I'm gonna miss this when the season ends.

Skol, Vikings!  It's gonna be a wild one today.

You shut your filthy mouth!

Peterson will be lucky to get 100 yards today.  Packers blow out.

Has the fact that KC has 5 Pro Bowlers been brought up?  Might be the most by a 2 win team ever.  Esp by one that gives up 26 a game and can't score.

Yep.

So Eli is awake today.

I see the pregame locker room speech wrapping up with:

"OK guys, now let's go out there and give Coach Reid a send-off that shows what we think of him as a man, and as a coach!"

:end of 1st quarter: - "THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT."

Andy Reid should coach the Chiefs.  He'll have the first pick and talent on defense.  I think he can help turn them into a playoff team.  I bet the Chiefs would take what the Eagles had with Reid.

Could only be the niners.  If the Packers lose, then the Bears aren't in the playoffs.

Packer's won't lose though.  Firing on all cylinders for the first time this year, and Matthews is going to make Ponder his bitch today.

Packers are playing for a bye.  No way they lose.

Bears better put it in the end zone with this turnover.  Lions want to give it away and the Bears aren't taking it.

And of course a FG rolleyes.gif

Looks like the Steelers finally have some real CB talent in Cortez Allen.  And the Colts are takin' care of business.

I cannot wait to see what the Colts do in the playoffs.  Outside of Denver, they may be the hottest team in the AFC right now.

And WTF with the Saints?  That defense is tissyoo paper.  Deangelo Williams with 191 yards of rushing so far.  Too bad he didn't do that last week or I might have won my championship game.

Tissyoo?

And you bet your championship on the Carolina Panthers? That's why they call it fantasy football, I guess. smile.gif

The players ya got is what ya play.  Also had Doug Martin.  My RBs suck--Martin and my WRs carried me through the season.

"Tiss-yoo Paper" is how the bad guy alien in Galaxy Quest says "tissue paper".

Thank god this season is over. Now let the beheadings commence.

Aikman, we GET IT... you don't like the Packers... so why do you continue to call their games?

What's the buzz on a coach?  College or assistant?

What are they going to take in the draft?

Please tell me Tebow is not in the future.

He's assigned.

I doubt Aikman hates the Packers

like fun he doesn't.  I've had to listen to horse face for 6 games this year.  He clearly dislikes the Packers.

Because he criticizes them?  That's his job.  He's not a homer.

clearly you haven't watched many Packer games with him announcing.

Reports have a couple of NFL personnel guys as early favorites to replace GM Gene Smith, who would then probably get the latitude from Khan to keep or send Mularkey packing. (Candidates are, per Adam Schefter, Arizona's Jason Licht or the 49ers Tom Gamble). I don't subscribe to the Andy Reid rumors floating around, but hell I wouldn't turn him down. I just don't think that's a move he would want to make.

There is still a lot of pressure to acquire Tebow and just make a go of it, but I can't think that Khan will handicap a brand new GM that way. I personally hope it doesn't happen because it'll stunt the growth of the Jaguars as an organization. I just think it's a no-win situation for him because I'm convinced he is not a long-term NFL QB.

As for the draft, they need everything. Literally. Well, except for a punter.

He doesn't hate the Packers.  You may not like him but it's a job to him.  He hasn't played with any of these players.

But I'll agree Joe Buck is a douche.

If the Jags are smart they will go all defense in the draft.  Wait till next year for a QB.  Have a defense ready for when you actually have a QB fo the future.

They got suckered by thinking that the 2011 defense, which finished sixth in the league in yards allowed, was good. What they failed to realize is that the reason the defense ranked so high is that the Jaguars had ball control with MJD that year, reducing the length of games and therefore the amount of yards they gave up. It was also skewed by some real crazy results (like the MNF 9-0 win over Baltimore in which Flacco was about as bad as you could be as a QB). So they went into this year thinking the defense was good, but instead had to deal with LBs Clint Session and Daryl Smith never playing, Derek Cox getting hurt all the time and a revolving door at the other CB position, not to mention the two "franchise" DTs in Alualu and Knighton taking massive steps backwards.

yes Aikman, let's not talk about the clear non fumble by jones.  Lets go on and on and on about McCarthy and the flag.

Aikman just said it shouldn't be intentional grounding.  He hates the Vikings

AD=MVP. To hell with 9 yards.

Friggin Packers.  I hope AP runs all over them next week and gets a win.  And with the 3 seed they get to go to SF if they win.  Good luck with that.

Oh, and why are Packer fans so damn whiny?  You've won a Super Bowl recently.  You've got the best QB in the NFL.  You're contenders every year.  Stop whining about every perceived slight.

Talk about highs and lows, this game had me all over the place!  Stress!  Glad to get the rematch next week in Green Bay.

Oh, football fans are whiny, waaaaaah!

Yeah,  I kinda feel like pretty much everything that COULD go well DID go well for Minny today. Not sweating the rematch.

that's what happens when Chicago cheers for you....

bright side, enjoy the offseason Bears fans.

I'm still pissed at Lions didn't get the job done vs the Bears. Guess it wouldn't of mattered anyway with Vikings winning. Not too mad over that though since Minny deserved it more so I'm glad they won, just disappointed in my Giants waiting till today to turn it on. We could of used that type of performance against Atlanta or Baltimore. Oh well at least we pummeled the Eagles! Just hope we have a better not as stressfull season next year, though knowing my team as I do, not likely.

It was a weird day.  Bears had to pull for the Packers, and I'll admit, I was pulling for the Bears as I had no desire to see the Giants in the playoffs.  Them bastards have our number.

Greg Jennings sister... I'm sure Kurt Warners wife would like to take you out for some Mexican food.

Yeah, after the Vikings game I'm glad the Bears won. I would have been pissed to have lost the one I was sure was going to go the way I wanted. Also, once that Bears game was over I just accepted it, was at peace about the whole thing, and happy I wouldn't have to root for the Packers after all.

Now if only RGIII can turn it on now that I need him to.

Also have to say, I love the Texans. They are my number 2 behind the Giants. But it's hard not to go for the Broncos right now.

Next week, I'll take Seattle, GB, Houston and Baltimore.

Hard not to like NE, Denver, SF and Seattle (if my understanding of seeding is right, Seattle would line up for the annual "win in Atlanta" game) for the championship games. The other 9 teams just look far too flawed.
