Looks like Sly spoke too soon...

I don't think we need this. That last shot of Rambo walking down the track to his dad's farm was the perfect way to end the franchise.

It definitely was.  That said, if we're going to get a Rambo V no matter what (which seems to be the case), then I would rather it star Stallone.

That's what the last film was. Think about it  - It's almost the same plot, just with the opposite sensibilities.

Exactly. It's full circle, considering the first film started with him walking the roads alone with no purpose, and the last film ends with him walking the roads, heading back to family. It's about as perfect of an ending to the series as can be.

There's no way they'll ever do a successful "passing of the torch" with this.

Naw, just bring back Matthew Marsden as Brit-Rambo Jr.

Go the Godfather II. Finish off Rambo with Stallone ala Unforgiven route while simultaneously cast a young actor to play Rambo off to Vietnam. Sequel, prequel, reboot all in one. Everybody wins.

This is very true.

In theory, that's a fantastic idea.  There's no way Lionsgate would go for it (or pay for it) though.

RAMBO was a fitting end.

But I still wanna see Stallone battle a genetically engineered Yeti. Or some other beastie. Hell, bring it to Fox and make PREDATOR 3, Sly!

Fuck yes; make it about Sly as an old vet taking part in some survival training in the jungle with a unit of modern, young spec ops (who make fun of the old guy from an even older war), and then unleash the Predator on them; no high tech, no big guns; and of course the new generation of soldiers get picked one by one by not listening to Stallone.

Id pay for that,

Considering Poe isn't getting off the ground anytime soon (if ever) and he's no longer attached to the Death Wish remake, I wonder what Sly will follow-up The Tomb with?  Obviously this is in the cards (as well as a potential third Expendables), but right now it looks like Hunter really is the only other project he has on the backburner.  Unless another interesting script comes his way, there really is no good reason we couldn't see Sly facing off against a genetically-altered beastie within the next few years.
