This is an easy Day 1 purchase for me. I honestly have logged over 200 hours on Borderlands 1.

 

I know that the original gang from the first game are in this, but I wish you could use them - bringing the total number of classes available to eight. Would be pretty neat.

I'm sure I'll end up purchasing this although the first one was a mixed bag for me.  I've mentioned it before, but as much as I enjoyed this as a single player game on the PC I purchased a 4 pack with 3 other friends with the intention of playing together and multiplayer on PC was such an absolute abomination that we were able to play together only once and that was for about 20 minutes.  Wanting to play multiplayer led me to the in-game matchmaking (which was equally horrible), and ultimately led to tons of games with people cheating (which they weren't monitoring at all).  Some of the cheats they were using would actually bleed over to any accounts who joined their games.  I got my gravity jacked up in one game and was given hundreds of backpack slots by joining another game.  Gearbox's response was to recommend that I download the hacking tool to hack my game back to normal.

 

I didn't buy any of the expansion packs, only because I really loathed the DRM they chose to add to the expansions that were not on the actual game itself.  Forcing a PC player to accept an intrusive DRM even when purchasing over Steam really rubs me the wrong way.

Well, considering how little wub wub there was in the first game, I could live with 96.5% percent more.

 

The trailer and music (especially the music) for the first one were much better, though.

I too wish that I could use my beloved Mordecai gunslinger build in this game, but from what I have seen, the original 4 classes would be severely outclassed by their replacements without substantial upgrades to their abilities.  Salvador is definitely gonna be my first character to max out the levels on.

Im geting this on the 360 the second preoders open here; hell, i traded the first one when I was done with it, and i ended up buying it digital less than a month later; its that good.

I went Syren in the first one, but I'll probably go with Salvador or Zero this time around.

 

The planned DLC 5th class (free for day one purchasers, will be up a month after release) seems like it will be my 2dn run pick:

Also pulled from that article - don't lose your Borderlands 1 saves!!! They will unlock a special character skin and head to use.

 

Edited to say that yeah - definately running with a Mechromancer as my 2nd character. The article says that she would be able to control a large robot named D374-TP (Death Trap). I hope he works as some kind of summon spell. ;)

Bumpity bump bump.

 

Wow, pretty quiet on the thread about this. We're little over a month until this juggernaut hits. It's become Take Two's third highest pre-ordered title ever (behind 2 GTA games). I honestly put myself on a media blackout on this a few months ago. I know a ton of videos showing gameplay have been out - haven't seen any. So ready for this.

Having devoted the last several months to Skyrim and Witcher 2, I'm getting tired of all the swords 'n' sorcery and am ready to shoot something in the head. So despite the fact that I never played the first one, I'm strongly considering buying this for the Xbox 360. Would definitely be up for some Chewer co-op if enough of you guys will be playing on that system.

Heard the news today that the Mecromancer will play as a summon character - nice info in this article here.

Well, that explains that. I thought you were on my Live friends list, Shaolin, but when I looked the other day, I couldn't find you. But you're there under your new handle. I'm game for teaming up if you are. Anyone else getting this?

I will be picking this up for the computer, had a blast doing the campaign....my Siren rocked the double anarchy.....the multiplayer sucked...so skipped the expansions.

 

Really wish they would add deathmatch to this, would be hella fun but impossible to balance.

I'll be playing this on PC.

 

All of the games that I've been playing have been losing my interest rapidly over the last few weeks.  This game might just be coming out at the perfect time.  Nerded out a little bit yesterday and put together some theoretical skill trees.  What I found odd after completing that though was that the Assassin looks like it will be most fun if you put a ton of points into melee skills, but then you lose the loot whore joy that comes along with finding an amazing gun.  I'm curious if there will be melee weapons to find as well.

Unless they changed it, the character classes don't automatically preclude a character from using all of the different weapon classes.

Oh, I'd assume he can still use guns.  But I'd also assume if you stack melee points you'll be doing a lot more melee than shooting.

Probably will be a midnight purchase for me, but I will be hitting it hard that Tuesday night (will be off work on Wed).  The only thing I didn't like out of that review was that it's community loot, meaning everybody will be fighting over the same stuff in a co-op game.  That's actually one thing Diablo 3 got right, everybody gets their own loot.  Regardless I will be wanting to play some co-op come Tuesday night on my my XBOX...I promise I will be more than fair when it comes time to divy up loot.  I've actually got some headphones for all those who want to communicate that way.  My first character will undoubtedly be an Assassin but I'm sure I will probably play all 4 within the first week.  I will be renewing my subscription with XBOX LIVE specifically for this game, so send me a PM starting Tuesday.

Preordered a 4 pack of Borderlands 2 with 3 friends on Steam.  $40, and I have a rig that can handle it.  Plus, I'm a PC snob when it comes to shooters.

Yeah, my Amazon copy should be arriving tomorrow.  Who knows if I'll have time to play it much (I'm swamped with work the next 3 weeks).  My XBLG expired yesterday and I'll probably hold off on buying a new subscription until October.

 

Still going to work in some time playing it tomorrow night though.

I played well over 100 hours of the first Borderlands even though there were some issues with it. It looks like they've addressed all of them (except for the vehicles possibly) and my excitement for the sequel is hitting a fever pitch. Gonna be picking it up at midnight. I really dislike Gamestop, but what can you do since they have the Creature Slaughter Dome as an exclusive preorder bonus?

 

The only thing that sucks is I don't know anyone to jump into a MP game with me and I never played MP on the first one even though it sounded like a blast. A friend may be picking it up in a few weeks, but he's notorious for not being a team player and being available to play.

 

Long story short if anyone wants an extra vault hunter to their team, hit me up. XBL tag is Rodofwar1. Cheers.
