Wait a minute, where have we seen this Goliath before?

This is all I see.

Got nothing to add. Just wanna say that Lou is so nice, he actually deserved to have a bigger career. If only he was a better actor.

Isn't that just a screencap from the extended Super Bowl trailer?

Just rewatched the Ed Norton Incredible Hulk with subtitles on and while it hasn't grown in stature or anything (still enjoy swaths of it), it was surprising to note that the Hulk here actually manages to grunt out a few words. Of course, it's so buried in the mix, I don't think anyone noticed so I don't think it "fluffed" audiences any for a talking Hulk in The Avengers.

"llleave mee alone"

If this means the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno "The Incredible Hulk" TV series is part of the Marvel Movieverse canon, I'm happy.

Probably not, since Lou was in The Incredible Hulk.

How does a trailer screencap count as an "official photo"?

Yes, but in addition to Green Genes, Ferrigno also played a bodybuilder named Carl Molino in the episode, "King of the Beach." It stands to reason that Carl and his unnamed character in the "Incredible Hulk" movie could be the same guy.

Knowing that Ruffalo did all the acting for Hulk makes me cautiously optimistic that they can pull off a convincing character to build around his mo-capped performance. It'd be a pleasant surprise if Hulk turned out to be as well realized as Caesar.

Am I the only one who sees that Hulk as simply a hulked up Ruffalo rather than a Ferrigno tribute?

No, I said as much in the talkbacks.

Makes sense, considering the CG models from this will "supposedly" be re-used for the forthcoming live action Hulk TV show.

Voiced by Lou Ferrigno to boot!

Lou is supposedly back voicing Hulk again for Avengers, so hopefully it is for more than just grunts.

Nothing against Lou Ferrigno, but that strikes me as a sentimental/fanboyish thing to do in light of the fact that Mark Ruffalo is responsible for the entire Banner/Hulk performance and that computers can digitally lower a voice but they can't easily wipe away Lou's speech impediment.

It's 100% a fanboy-baiting move on Marvel's part to keep Lou around to voice the Hulk................as is the inclusion of Peter Cullen and Frank Welker in the Transformers films.

Doesn't make it any less cool or respectful to past legacies.  If Bixby were alive, you can guarantee they'd give him a role of some sort.

Ferrigno voiced the Hulk on the animated series from a ways back. And it was fuckin' great (the performance, not the show). So I'm cool with this development.

Lou was kind of a dick to me when I met him. In addition, he charged me $40 bucks for an autograph. But I wasn't leaving without him signing my Hulk hand as it's now my mantle piece. He was wearing a fanny pack filled with rolled up twenties, which looked pretty baller. Only Ferrigno could pull that off.

Yeah, I've heard he can be a bit cold at conventions. I knew someone who went to one and said they took kids and the kids were all excited to meet him. Apparently when they went for his autograph, he wasn't very friendly and didn't make eye contact with them. But you never know with stuff like that. There are always conflicting stories, and some people just catch folks on a bad day.

That was my experience. Guy didn't even look at me. His daughter handled the entire transaction. So awkward.

Welp, I'll have to take your word for it, but as a rule I prefer it when 1 actor plays a role. Makes things more consistent and probably helps invest the actor in the total character/performance and not just 1 aspect of it.
