Todd and the Book of Pure Evil

Any fans here? Just finished up season 1 on dvd and it's a fun show that finds a real nice groove toward the end of the season. It's kind of like  Buffy meets Evil Dead meets Early Kevin Smith meets Canada. The show is a bit rough, particularly early, but the cast has a fun chemistry and the guy who plays the guidance counselor kills it. Plus there is an episode where a guy grows a giant penis and runs around turning everyone into stone with it, so that's pretty cool.

Also, just saw the Fearnet has put up season 1 and the beginning of season 2 on demand, if you're interested and have access to Fearnet.

Season 2 is a real improvement on season 1. I've probably watched "2 Girls, 1 Tongue", the second musical, episode 15-20 times. Just an unexpectedly great show.

Saw the last two episodes of season 2 on Fearnet, and knowing the show isn't picked up for a third season is a bit of a disappointment. It isn't perfect, but the show has a charm to it that is hard to deny. Tim Long is right about Chris Leavins' Atticus Murphy Jr. being the highlight of the show. He's in that rare category of bad guys who are so pathetic at being evil, you kinda root for the character to succeed. (See: Dr. Evil and The Monarch)

I hope that something comes out, whether it is a TV movie or graphic novel, to resolve the cliffhanger.

In case anyone is interested, there is an Indiegogo campaign by the makers of Todd to bring it back as an animated movie to wrap up the season 2 cliffhanger.
