I just wrote an exhausting post about this subject, and the disparity of income and education in the South, both amongst minorities and majorities, but by the end of the fifth paragagraph I just couldn't hit "post reply".
My love of the region I was born in has nothing to do with 'Southern Pride', and everything to do with the poverty that (some) of my family has managed to overcome. It's deeply personal, and hard to explain, especially for a bedwetting libtard who had to use an outhouse until he was six years old and joined the Navy at 19 after dropping out of art school.
Of course I'm ashamed of some of my neighbors. I imagine we all are.
