Cool! You know, I think Barker did man-eating-pig much better, and much sooner, than did Thomas Harris (whose novel featuring swine SUCKED, by the way).

I'd love to see In the Hills, The Cities (I think that's the title).

In the Hills, the Cities...

That would make a cool visual image.

The people fighting, not the gay sex.

I would like to relate to you an amusing tale regarding that short story-Firstly, that story proved to me (and my friend Don) that Clive was gay-even though no one wanted to believe us at the time-people actually said stupid shit like, "Clive's too cool to be gay!" Boy, the Reagan/Bush '80's hurt a lot.

But the really funy thing was that in the course of the story, Clive describes the taste of semen-so, while Don and I WERE mildly disturbed, we also needed to know the truth-so we did the only thing we could...

We walked up to Don's sister and asked her what semen tasted like.

She was not amused.

We were.

I have a comic called TAPPING THE VEIN which has a great painted comic book version of IN THE HILLS, IN THE CITIES.

Men strapped to each other with a common goal. It brings a tear to the eye.

That's a very good research approach to the taste of semen, but who cares if he's gay anyway? (Though I was majorly upset after he went public, I've had a crush on Clive since I was 13, cutest author around!)
Those Tapping the Vein Books are great! I've got 4 issues, and yup, the illustrations for In the Hills the Cities are excellent, though I don't think it would be pulled off well in film, unless the right combination of people were involved

I don't care if he's gay-but I'll tell you who does-

Clive Barker.

Every time he's on a talk show, he begins nearly every statement with, "Well, speaking as a GAY man..."

It's rather odd, but amusing. I've met him twice I love him a lot. He's very witty, warm and generous with his time.

Tapping the Vein-those were great books before Marvel killed the Epic line...Epic was DC's Vertigo before Vertigo.

Jesus Christ, HAM what do you do? Just go places and meet famous people? I mean, is that your day?

"Hmmm, looks like morning again, I wonder what famous person I will meet today?"

I'm not jealous. I swear

Clive Barker is absolutely the nicest guy, I was lucky enough to meet him twice too, very friendly and just very cool,
on that note, I'm off to Margaritaville, you all have a lovely weekend and don't get caught doing anything naughty without a camera!

Conventions, Johnny. Conventions,
Concerts and Film Festivals. And if
you present yourself in the right
way, people talk to you. You get yourself into all kinds of cool places. Some of these things are just cursory meetings, sometimes I get to pitch a screenplay, and rarely, though it does happen, I get to hang out with these people in a social capacity-though I do regret not going bar-hopping with Reggie Bannister from Phantasm. I'm sure it would have been a ball...heh, heh-heh! Heh...heh, ohh...

It can happen for me-It can happen for you, too! And it's all right here in my new study at home course...

no.
