Round Two. FIGHT.

And one more time, for any newbies:

Quote:
--We've got 17 games to choose from above. Poll will stay open until midnight, May 4th.

--Once we have an official pick, we all have 2 weeks to obtain the game in question by any legal means necessary.

--We all start playing May 21st, and we'll have a week to get to a certain point, which will be decided before hand, depending on difficulty, length of the game, how open it is, etc. Then the next chunk of game, then the next, and so on and so forth.

--If the game has DLC, we'll decide as a group whether to tackle it when the time comes.

--During the whole time, we will comment here as much as possible. Could be asking for help, could be just general snark. Everything right, everything wrong. Just talk about the game.

I'm super keen on Alan Wake personally, I love the idea of playing a Steven King novel kinda game.

Alan Wake looks pretty interesting; I'll go for that

Alan Wake looks great, but since I have no plans to purchase a 360 anytime soon, I went with the 3D Castlevania.

Oh, I didn't know Alan Wake was 360 exclusive. Change my vote to Castlevania: Lords, if there needs to be a tiebreaker.

Wake's out for PC now, too.

Thanks for the tip, but my laptop isn't really a gaming rig, and I have so little experience with PC gaming, I would probably pass anyway.

Went with Alan Wake, since ive already played both Castlevanias and most of the games on the list, and ive yet to finish Alan Wake.

Id also like to throw out there that if we do Alan Wake, American Nightmare's not gonna be part of the deal.

Bought Alan Wake today, just in case. Been wanting to play it anyways. Looks beautiful on the pc.

I'm going for Darksiders as my first choice. I've been in the mood for an action adventure type game.

I voted for Bayonetta simply because it's easily one of the best action games of the decade.   The combat system is deep, the levels are varied and very creative, and the boss battles are epic in scope.   Add to that, the fact that you are fighting the Heavenly Host opens up a whole new design pallette for the enemies you battle and the art department doesn't disappoint.   Think Renaisance inspired design for the bad guys.   The one huge point against it is how Japanese this game is.     This cannot be understated.    For me, the actual game  prevailed and  the cheesiness won me over but I can see it as a deal breaker for a lot of folks on here.   Alan Wake is a game I would love to get and play along with you guys but "Bayonetta" should be put in queue if for nothing else than a pallette cleanser between more serious gaming fare.....

Now we are two.

Decided to go with my original choice and vote for Enslaved. I'll join in with the discussion if Alan Wake gets picked, but played it no so long ago and don't really fancy running through it again.

Holy fuck we really need to narrow down the choices. That's a lot to chose from. So many great games.

And I voted for Prey. One of the most interesting FPS games ever, and one of the last to innovate.

If I could, I'd change my vote to Bayonetta.

You have my sword next round, Justin.

The good thing about Bayonetta is that it can be beaten within a week.   There's tons of replay value but it's not one of those games where you get sidetracked by sidequests or deep storylines.   It's pretty much "Here's your target. Go!" but executed to such a high level.   The later boss levels have the feel of fighting a god and have a nice sense of scale.   Even if the game is not picked as an official selection, it's worth your time.   That and the loading screen (at least on the 360 version) let's you practice your combos.   Brilliant.

There, some hope, I cast my vote for Boinganetta...I was just going to show some ancillary love to Rayman, but what the hell...I can always throw my vote away when the next Canadian election happens and vote NDP.

Maybe we could all agree to the next two months of Club choices if there are two clear favourites?? Say, Bayonetta in May and Alan Wake in June?

Or maybe I can demand an immediate recount. I see some chads hanging up there.

But seriously, I'm cool taking this month off. SSX keeps my gaming plate full for at least that long.

I could be on board with that, though if Alan Wake's still in the lead when the poll ends, that'll be switched. Also, I dread my brain exploding into a glittery cavalcade of clownshoes and fleshlights if I have to play that and Lollipop Chainsaw back to back in June.

So close, yet so far.

But we're doing Alan Wake. Starting May 21st. Gentlemen, start your Amazons.

This is great! I'm still early in Alan Wake, so I'll be taking part in this shindig!

This will give me an excuse to play through Alan Wake again, not that I really needed one.

PC People: GoG has Alan Wake (with both DLC episodes!) for 15 bucks for this week only, so hurry the hell up!

Talk about timing; also, finally a reason to finish this one on the ol' x360.

Count me in for someone who wouldn't mind Bayonetta being the June game of the month.

Dont want to do yet another poll, but is anyone opposed to Bayonetta as June's game?

All for Bayonetta in June.

Yes to Bayonetta.   It'll give me a chance to find those laser guns and ice skates.
