Yeah, yeah, season 6 was a dud...

 

But season 7 has Titus Pullo!

I didn't think season 6 was a dud.  Wasn't the best season,sure, but it was pretty fun for the most part.

 

Looking forward to seeing more of Deb "I can't believe I fell in love with my brother, AND another serial killer!" angst.  lol.

 

They just need Angel to bring back more of La Passione.  Oh, and more Masuka.  You can never get enough Masuka.

Yeah, it may have fallen from must-see to guilty pleasure status but Hall is still too good for me to give up on. Maybe now that the 24 crew is gone it will get better.

I submit that if a primary subplot makes you "lol", then it's probably terrible.

 

I thought Season 6 stunk, with even Hall seeming bored. I didn't even get a 'fun' campy vibe like I had in years past. I'll probably check out season 7 eventually, but this show needed to end years ago.

Are they going to just drop the whole Intern subplot from last season as well?  I get the feeling this show ends with Deb being the Commissioner Gordon to Dexter's Batman...only they are in love.  Christ, this show.

I used to love Dexter.  I think Season 4 is the best all-around run the show's had, and 5 was sort of the perfect follow-up to it.  But 6... 6 was so bad that I'm giving 7 exactly one episode to get its act together.  Anything as bad as the bulk of S6 and I'm out.

Thats the thing. I never exactly looked at Dexter as the Sopranos, more like Sons of Anarchy. It's a ton of fun with moments of greatness yet never quite reaching it. The show was never going to be American Psycho and im ok with that. However I will say last season did not work for me. Here is hoping that since they got 2 years left they will write toward their finish. I believe they even said that in an interview.

Hi Friends ,

     I Watched the lot of TV Shows But My  Favorite TV show Is Dexter.I think Season 6 stunk, with even Hall seeming bored.

     My friends are not like Dextre Season 7.Some peoples are asked, dexter TV show is most intersting.

Where did that come from? She announced he was cured April 2010, they divorced December 2010 and the filing said they'd been separated since August 2010.

 

Is this just a 2+2=5 thing?

It is one of my favorite tv show.I like to watch this s how daily basis. I have watched every sessions . each and every sessions are mind blowing.Seasion 7 is a great . It is very intresting   session.

Anyway I am actually looking forward to this season. I can't make any excuses for the last season really, it was a ball drop. However for me it was the only true bad season the show has had. Im hoping with the new revelation and an end date in mind we might actually go somewhere.

While I applaud getting a Zimmerman dig in, I wish you hadn't done it in my pretty Dexter thread.

 

However you are correct I doubt that right away she will get that he is the bay harbor butcher. I imagine he will come up with something to justify that killing but at least it's something. This show really only has 2 seasons left, with this knowledge im hoping they will start writing towards their end rather than season to season which I think they have been hinting at in interviews.

The new trailer seems to cast things in a different light.  In spite of myself, I'm actually looking forward to the new season - planning to watch at least the first couple episodes.  My soul may be doomed...

She is a detective that believed the Ice Truck Killer killed himself by binding himself to his contraption, slitting his throat and raising the machine using a lever that was on the other side of the room.

Dexter is Serial crime drama show. i Watch this show from September 2007. It is very Interesting show & now watch this show daily. This show is rounding around a single Person Dexter Morgan . His Name in real life is Micheal C. hall. He plays his role very well in this show. I am Waiting to Watch its Seventh season that is release on 30th of september. Hope This Season is also intrested like old ones.

Sepinwall and Feinberg were kind of raving about the first three episodes of this season at their podcast. And they HATED season 6. Which means that I, who found good things even in the last season, will probably piss my pants from joy.

God I hope that is true. I REALLY want this show to finish strong. Im hoping that now that they are writing towards their end rather than treading they can actually take Dexter somewhere. It's pretty much this season and then one after folks.

I love you for making me aware of this. 

 

I've had qualms with various seasons, but I genuinely enjoyed the show up until last year.  I'll be ecstatic if it can recover from last year's collapse.

I just listened to that excerpt over on Netflix. Wow! I hated all of last season, so this is exciting to hear.

Yeah, just when you thought they were going to string out the "Deb figuring it out" transition for an entire season, they drop the hammer. Nicely played.

 

I did find myself wondering at what point in the series Dexter stopped killing guys who had gotten off or slipped through the cracks, and started hiding evidence and going after guys who could easily be convicted. 

 

More importantly though: it's ok to like Dexter again! smile.gif

Had a problem with what i thought to be a fake beginning with Dexter fleeing to the airport - finding out later that it was a real scene that happened later helped. Still a bit tacky...

 

Looks like they are already doing a better job than with season 5. FYI: Seasons 1 and 2 are my favourites.

That was easily the best episode of Dexter since the Season 4 finale, which had Lithgow and Rita's death, and...okay, that's all I remember. Maybe the season 2 finale then.

 

It was so nice to see Deb actually use her brain like the great cop she's supposed to be. However, the most surprising thing may be that LaGuerta actually has a role in which she's doing things that are interesting and relevant to the main story. IT'S A MIRACLE!

Holy Fuckenstein!

 

That was fucking great! I do believe that this is one of the top 5 Dexter episodes ever. The end had me jump off my chair. It also caused this week to become the longest one in recorded history.

I didn't love it -- the stuff involving Victor from Dollhouse was pretty lame -- but I'm glad Deb was played off as smart.  It's probably the best season opener other than 5's My Bad.

That ending was phenomenal though. Don't care about the Ukrainians, don't care about Laguerta or weird intern guy. I just want Dex and Debra playing Cat and mouse for the remainder.

The Ukranian and Intern Guy are the usual so-so Dexter subplots, although I think the intern seemed more interesting here that at any point last season.

 

I disagree about Laguerta, though, because it seems she will become part of the primary storyline in a way that could be suspenseful and dramatic. I'm probably overrating it a bit because she's SUCH a useless character, but I'll take that over her and Angel bickering about their relationship any day of the week.

The Ukranian guy is leading to Ray Fucking Stevenson coming after Dexter, so that's aces in my book.

 

The intern will hopefully be dealt with soon. He's a tie to the worst and needs to go.

 

Laguerta's ties to Doakes are probably her most interesting character traits. The last time she didn't suck was when she had to deal with everyone believing Doakes was the Bay Harbor Butcher.

 

Probably the best thing about the premiere is how it fixed so many of the show's narrative problems. Dicey Laguerta story? Gone. Cipher new super-detective? Excised. Interminable Deb missing what Dexter is? Over. Good cause for optimism.
