Marvel Cinematic Universe Rumors (POTENTIAL SPOILERS) - Page 2

I'm not even a big fan of The Fantastic Four but if Marvel are pushing their films in the direction of the cosmic then The Fantastic Four and their rogue's gallery would be a HUGE asset.

Seeing these properties wallowing like they are is unpleasant.

There's a part of me that hopes Fox rushes something out that is absolutely disastrous, enough so to make them willing to sell the whole lot (at least everything but the X-Men, which are easier to keep separate anyway) back to Disney/Marvel or let them expire. I don't think Fox is capable of making a good Fantastic Four movie; I don't think they understand the property at all.

Edited to add - while I realize that could hurt Marvel overall, I suspect it would do more good in the long term than harm.

My understanding of "greenlit" is "no crap, this is going to happen, we've set aside the money and cameras are getting ready to roll (or at the very least we're doing serious casting and final pre-production)."

Not "Yeah, we're kinda thinking about it and working on a script" which seems to be the stage that the Fantastic Four reboot is currently at.  With a director sort-of/maybe attached.

I would assume they have to have cameras rolling by a certain point or the license expires.

I know, how long must we live in a world were only most of the more popular comic book superheroes get to star in movies. I mean, sure, there were those two earlier FF movies, but it's like they're intended for kids or something.

I keed, I keed. It's just, is it worth italics?

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: you wanna make a good Fantastic Four movie that's aimed at families? Go watch The Incredibles. It proves that "superhero films aimed at families" does not have to equal shitty sitcom writing, uneven effects, bland action and wildly miscast villains. Because The Incredibles has none of those things.

I was going to put ball shrivellingly painful but that seemed a bit much!
