Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes writers get the honor of scripting Jurassic Park 4.

Well this gives me quiet confidence I must say.

It's a good start, but the real question is who'll do the inevitable rewrite? Probably Koepp but hopefully not.

Honestly when I clicked on this article I thought it was an announcement that Rupert Wyatt was tabbed to direct, which would be ABSO LUTELY fantastic as well.

Just as long as WETA doesn't do the dino fx.  Theirs weren't so hot last time around.

The less said of that Dinosaur stampede the better.

Let's see about this. I mean, Rise wasn't exactly great in the character department unless your name was Ceaser. And Jurassic Park needs a story that surrounds itself with quirky, interesting characters to balance the dino ratio.

I would sell my house, my cats and my sizeable 'Classic Marvel Figurine' collection to see a film called 'Rise of the Planet of the Dinosaurs'.

Soundin' good, soundin' good...

Me to Mike Me to.  Make this hapopen Hollywood!

it has my interest...

but what about Rise of the Planet of the CHUD's? or is that too obvious for this site? ... ahem...

if we get to Rise of the Planet of the Tremors we can start talking about swopping limbs for a ticket... or Critters, a planet of Critters would be good...

Now thinking about it I want a re-release for the PS3 of the Dino Crisis games dammit!

Surprised they're missing the 20th anniversary year, you'd think marketing wise that would have kicked them up the arse a lot sooner. "22nd Anniversary" doesn't have the same ring to it.

This is.. troubling. The entire point of Jurassic Park was that dinosaurs were wild animals that we could not expect to understand. I worry they've been brought on to pull a Caesar and anthropomorphize murderous ancient lizards. Oh well, it probably won't be any more inappropriate than John Sayles' take on the franchise at least.

Because they wrote one movie with human-like animals that is all they are capable of writing?

I'm all for them re-working Sayles idea into a new JP.  Formula needs to be blown up, big time.

What idea is that?

Hopefully not. I just look at their hiring and wonder about studio intentions. That's all.

^Weaponized Dinosaurs with guns I believe...... never was into the idea, same problem I have with the Underworld films, these animals are meant to eat people with their massive teeth, give 'em a piece and they're much less frightening, because they won't eat you, they'll just pop a cap in you - not the same.

But this news is great, always loved this franchise, can't wait for it to return in a big way, it's certainly due one.

If they where to do something like this, why still call it Jurassic Park? Unless they want to keep that only solely for the name.  I'll like to see a crazed billionaire try to rebuild the park...but then I guess it'll just be a re-make.

Anthropomorphize... Have you seen Carlos Huante's designs for a previous JP4 iteration? I'd watch this movie...
