TAKEN 2 INTERNATIONAL TRAILER FOR THE WIN

Bryan Mills clearly does not suffer fools.

The way they hit the same beats just highlights how hilariously dumb the first movie was.

I especially like that his daughter seems to be about 30 years old, but she still worships him like she's 5.

Should be fun.

Deadbeat Dad Power Fantasy 2.

Ehh, I might try this.

The director's last name is Megaton?  Holy shit.

I'm in.  I liked the first one well enough.

Maggie Grace is the oldest teenage daughter in film history, though.  She's like Stockard Channing in GREASE old.

MEGATONNNN is what worries me. Transporter 3 and Columbiana were disappointments.

I'll bet this is a disappointment.  It just feels like it will be.

I need this movie to experience a gloriously exponential increase in awfulness a la Transformers 1 to Transformers 2.  I just need this to be hateful.  It's the only way for me to attain happiness.

The only MEGATON I will accept is from a punch by Sonic Blast Man.

I just want it to be really dumb, and xenophobic, and maybe a little creepy between Neeson and Grace.

Is that too much to ask?

(Oh, and maybe they could throw in Jon Gries' character getting shot in the head.)

Famke's with Bryan Mills. Stuart lost the dick measuring contest.

Just wait for Taken 3.  Xander Berkeley will have his revenge.

(Hopefully this time he at least got to keep the TV.)

He's off betraying POTUS for some vague reason during TAKEN 2: TWOKEN.

if my dad saved me from getting my cherry popped by some buttraping sheik through excessive violence, I'd probably worship him for a few years myself.

Columbiana was a wet fart of a movie. The guy's last name is still the best thing he has done.

That's the whole point; it's daddy wish-fulfillment.

I worship him like I'm 5, and he's not even my dad!

(sadly)

Yeah but a ton of action moves are on some level. That aspect did put me off the original a little bit but not completely.

Love the original, looking forward to this. Also, it'll be fun watching Ra's Al Gul beating on the homeless guy Wayne gave his coat too....

Wait, wasn't Mills supposed to be the one taken in this film? I'm sure I remember reading that in all the articles...?

What are people expecting with this movie?  All I wanna see is Neeson kicking ass and taking names, which was the only good thing about the first one.

That's pretty much the brief. Substitute 'Debbie Does...' with 'Neeson Kicks The Shit Out Of...' and you've pretty much encapsulated the franchise. Not that I'm complaining, mind. What this trailer's taught me though, is that Mills' daughter must shit herself every time her dad calls. It never seems to mean anything good.

Aside from not really caring for the original film, Megaton is a shit director, and he's not some new kid on the block either, the man is in his forties. If you haven't learned how to pace a film properly after 15 + years in the business, something is wrong.

Even with Liam Neeson doing a decent job, something about the first film never sat well with me, and I get the same feeling from this.

Seriously.

Of course I also think the first Taken is fairly awful.

The film had an interesting premise, and at the time the idea of Liam Neeson action star was a novel concept, but I always thought Taken was kind of dreary, with the action scenes mostly muddled and incoherent. Nothing special, other than Neeson's involvement.

I didn't even think Liam Nesson being at the center of the movie added a lot to it. He's a big guy who starred in if not action movies, then at least movies where he has to get fairly physical at parts. Seeing him in Taken was about as surprising as seeing Harrison Ford in Firewall.

Make it R rated and make "Rendezvous" the subtitle, and I'll be there.

I think that...Taken was an...Awesome Action Film!  It is truly one of the best movies that Liam Neeson has been in.  I cannot wait for the sequel!

Unfortunately, I can only pres the "Thumbs Up" button once.

With only a marginal adjustment, the logline for Taken could easily fit as description for a slasher film.

"A sociopath follows his estranged daughter to Europe, torturing and killing several young men in an effort to preserve her virginity."

Liam Neeson         Maggie Grace

Promise Ring

Keep it tight tonight

Retaken!

Take Two.

Taken 2: I'll Kill All of You.

First, they took his daughter...

Then they took his wife...

This time...they've gone too far

LiamNeesonTaken.jpg

"Listen to me very carefully. They've taken the cat."

TAKEN 3

BULLETS. THEY'LL BE RIDDLED WITH THEM.

I'd like an entire film of Liam Neeson and Rade Sherbedgia threatening each other over the phone. Xander Berkeley watches, but isn't allowed to join in.

T8KEN (Direct-To-Video)

Bryan Mills might need a little "Me time" right now, but when Kim and Lenore are threatened yet again, Stuart is there to take out the trash.

He's just got to get the hang of it first...

I don't think Neeson was even particularly good in Taken (he was fine, and his speech from the trailer was well delivered, but he didn't elevate the material with any notable degree of charisma). At the time it was unexpected to see him take the lead in such a seedy genre picture. Yes he'd had roles in fairly prestigious action oriented films, but it was a novel direction for his career at the time, to star as "Liam Neeson - Killing Machine". Now of course only a few years later the very idea of Neeson in such a role is sort of exhausting and played out.

Getting a slight Bronson vibe from that wispy Neeson 'stache, but I dunno... it doesn't do him any favors.
