Anyone else seen the trailer for this yet?
There was a Quicktime version of the trailer posted on AICN a couple of days ago, but the quality was awful.

There's a better quality subtitled version here:

It looks incredibly creepy, a lot like The Ring and The Eye. Definitely one I'll pick up on import DVD when it gets released.

There's a review of JU-ON: The Grudge over at AICN:

Apparently this is the third in a series. Sounds like it'll be a stand-alone story though. Now all I need to do is track down the previous two before this hits R3 DVD.

Holy crap.

Thanks man, i needed to remind myself to get a region-free player.

Why oh why has all the originality in horror movies escaped to Asia?

And as of late, Brittain! How weird is THAT considering their censorship laws, but then again maybe the repression made it more fertile. "In the face of adversity..." and all that.

There's not one copy of either on eBay unfortunately. I'm guessing that when Ju-On: The Grudge hits Asian theatres, the original movies should get put on eBay or released on R3 DVD.

Ju-On 1 & 2 were Direct to Video releases in Japan apparently, and their surprise popularity called for the studio to make a remake/sequel theatrical feature, which is what this trailer is for.

Premier Asia, a new DVD label from Medusa Communications and Marketing, the company behind Hong Kong Legends, have announced the release of the Korean swordplay/fantasy adventure Bichunmoo on March 31st.

Features are unconfirmed as yet, however a two-disc set is promised. The label however say they aim to focus on releasing the very best of new Asian cinema on DVD, including productions from Japan, Korea and Thailand and featuring the works of relative newcomers such as Young-jun Kim and Thanit Jitnukul, as well as new films from established and acclaimed directors such as Sung-su Kim and Takashi Miike.

Future releases are set to include epic swordplay adventure Musa: The Warrior (due August), Bang-Rajan, boxing-drama The Champion, the terrifying cult horror film Ju-On (The Grudge), the Korean action-comedy My Wife Is A Gangster, the special effects extravaganza Volcano High and the controversial psycho-thriller Ichi The Killer (due May).
Doesn't give a date for Ju-On unfortunately, hopefully it'll arrive sooner rather than at the end of the year. Any idea when it gets a DVD release in Asia?
