There is a lot of negativity going on around these parts! But you know what? Between this and the dating thread, happiness is being had! In my experience, happy dating people stop using the internet, but who knows...

Share some sickening happiness! *unsubscribes from thread*

It's 6 am and I am drunk, go me.

 

Anyway, I've been seeing a young lady for about a month now, seriously, and it's going really well. She loves my kids, my kids love her and she played Bayonetta, along with the Chud gaming club last month...but she refused to comment. :(

 

Unlike pretty much every other woman I've ever dated she's really grounded and secure in her own skin. I tend to go for crazy with daddy issues.

 

So there you go. When your relationship begins it's like waking up on the right side of the bed and always knowing which is the cool side of the pillow.

 

...now let's see how long this lasts before I'm in the Depression thread crying to the Heavens about how I screwed it up.

After being in the trenches of online dating for nearly a decade, I finally met someone awesome last year and we're coming up on our 1-year anniversary.  I bring hope to the hopeless!

Been getting dick on a regular basis for four years since I cried on this sweet guy's shoulder during Brendan Gleeson's death scene in In Bruges.  He slung his arm around me to comfort/move in on me and hasn't let go since.  Thank God.

Just got married on the 8th of last month, to the one girl who can put up with me. 5 years together, 1 year living together, and I've known her for going on 11 years. No fear getting married. When people ask me if it's different all I say is "The only thing different is I'm wearing a ring now." So technically our new relationship has begun, but it's still the same strong relationship we've had for a very long time.

I have the same problem.  I hope I'll learn to love myself eventually, but it will probably take several years.  Rome wasn't built in a day after all.
