FANTASTIC FOUR GAINS DIRECTOR, DAREDEVIL LOSES ONE - Page 2

However, I don't think they will get rights back for The Hand. That is the villain organization in the next Wolverine movie. I read somewhere that Kevin Feige said that when it comes to the Skrulls, whoever uses them first (Avengers or Fantastic Four) gets them. I assume if Wolverine uses The Hand, it then belongs to the X-Men series and not the Daredevil one, right?

The Hand was already brought to the screen in 2005's Elektra.

I'm pretty sure they are tied up with the Daredevil rights.  Given that The Wolverine shoots next month, it won't matter.  The Daredevil rights (including Elektra, The Hand, Kingpin, Bullseye, etc.) presumably don't expire until the end of the year.  So if they are indeed using The Hand in Wolvie's next outing, it will be the last time they are seen in a non-Marvel Movieverse project if Fox loses Daredevil.

And I'm not surprised about Fox not giving much of a shit about Daredevil.  Of the two, Fantastic Four likely seems far more valuable to them due to the team dynamic in the wake of Avengers' success.

The issue with Skrulls/Super-Skrull is that Fox owns Super-Skrull as part of their FF package, but not regular Skrulls.  It seems likely to me that, while they technically could have used the Skrulls in Avengers, they just didn't want the headache of even a potential lawsuit...be it unfounded or not.  I can't blame them really and in the end it doesn't matter much.  The alien race was a faceless one and would have been that way under any name.

Great points

I know he's already been there done that, but now that Brad Bird's doing live action he's my only choice for the Fantastic Four.

I read somewhere right back when all this started that they needed to get to work on the Daredevil film by FALL (silly rabbits - it's Autumn for real folks), not the end of the year.  Wouldn't that mean they have a grand total of about two months to get their ass into gear?

If it's true, does anyone know a director that can jump at the project, dick them around for a couple of months and then pull out of the project JUST before the time lapses?

I could see Marvel calling bullshit on that if they did it. Even Corman at least made an actual movie.

I think NZ Natural is saying that we need a director to waste Fox's time long enough to ensure that the rights lapse.

Wayne Kramer is your man, by the way.  That man hasn't followed through on a project for the past four years.

He's been on it for a while now. It was even brought up on the first page of this thread.

I am not even sure if he is on it anymore. This news is almost a year old and I have seen some stuff since then that makes me think they have brought in more writers to work on it as well.
