It's time. Hard as it is to believe, we are now in our 10th season of the Chud.com keeper league. I'll just sent out invites. We do need to determine when we want to draft, though, so chime in and let me know because this should be early enough to pick and choose our times. I set up Monday night, August 27 at 8:00 CT for now.

Just a reminder. The Keeper rules are 3 keepers and 1 rookie from last year.  You can actually name your keepers on the site now instead of just listing them here. I have set the deadline for keepers to be a week before the draft

I'm in--also posted a note...when I signed in, it said the league was set up as an autodraft league.  Don't we do a live draft?

I'm here but didn't see my invite. I'll check from home after work to see if I have a link on the fantasy page.

 

Edit: Also while I was on vacation a couple weeks back the best fantasy name ever came to me like a bolt of lightning.

 

I don't remember it at all any more.  I'm hoping it would have sounded much dumber sober.

Yeah we're doing live draft. Just fixed that. Also, I figured Yahoo sends invites to everyone that played last season. Am I wrong about this?

I auto sent the invites, Apathetic. Did you get it and if not do you have the same email address as last year? If not, I will resend them.

Can I get invites from both A and B leagues to one address? I hated having to switch to different Yahoo emails just for the CHUD leagues.

Yeah, you must have been horrible because I was in shock when I realized I only had the 2nd pick.  I already don't like my keepers.

Weekends work best for me.  Hoot for the second pick!  Has anything happened to the A League yet? Nothing is showing up on yahoo yet for me.

Preferably, before Labor Day Weekend for me.  I head to Dragon*Con all weekend starting that Thursday (August 30th) and won't be back home until Tuesday.

i forgot to check in here, but checked into the league a while ago.

 

Ryan Matthews broken clavicle.

 

Is there any running back that is worth a damn this year?  This is the first time in a long time there is so much uncertainty at the RB position.

 Peterson yes, Romo no.   If you really want Romo I'm sure u can get him in the first 2-3 rounds esp with his TE hurt.

Psh, you guys think you have it hard with keepers?  I'm choosing between Peyton Hillis, Willis McGahee, and Jonathan Stewart over here.  Brees single-handedly carried my team last year; he's probably going to have to do it again this year.

Yeah, Just learned about the TE..so I most likely be dropping him.

So looking for some advice for a non-CHUD league. I have the 4th overall pick this year. In our league (non PPR) Passing TDs are worth 6 points, so QBs are valuable. At 4th, I think it's a good chance Rodgers, Brady, and Brees are gone......who should I look at taking? Take a chance with Stafford or Newton (I had him last year and fell in love)? Or take one of the top RBs (Rice, McCoy, CJ2k, Foster)?

I usually wait on QBs, to sometimes disastrous results. But my league makes QBs so powerful, I'm not sure if I should reach on a 2nd tier QB, or do the usual and go RB/RB/WR in the first 3 rounds.....

Stafford. The 1-2 punch of Johnson and Young will mean he's putting the ball up all the time and there are some who are ranking him higher than Brady or even Brees this year. I'd stay away from Newton - his rushing TDs are nullified with that scoring system.

4th is a hard spot.  If Foster and Rice are still there, I'd take one of them.  Otherwise I'd go with a QB at this point.  There are far more elite qbs then there are RBs now...but QBs are probably gonna start going in the first round way earlier than ever before.

 

As for Stafford...I don't trust that he'd stay healthy all season long, but then again it didnt really matter last year.
