Or that one scene in IRREVERSIBLE.

You know the one.

No, not THAT one, you fucking sicko.

And that bit of confusion is probably how Paul WS Anderson keeps getting work.

Paul WS Anderson needs to direct a movie written by Garfield writer Joel Cohen and Men In Black 3 writer Etan Cohen, just to fuck with movie geeks.

I don't know if anyone is more pro-Recall remake than me, and even I got no idea what you're talking about here. That's one bad review so far.

I was being sarcastic.  "Forgettable" is pretty much exactly how I expected a Len Wiseman-directed reboot of Total Recall to turn out.

The film writing at Popmatters can be a little all over the place, but I have no problem believing this review.

The headline says it all. Gave it a 5 out of 10. I might rent/stream it eventually just to see if the action bits and Brian Cranston are any good.

It needs to be said that review appears to be in favor of Rob Zombie's Halloween.

I can believe what that review says, though the film actually sounds more exciting than I would have expected. Definitely looking forward to renting it, and I hope it does well in theaters for the sake of the cast, and the fact I'd like to see more big budget science fiction.

No shit. That first paragraph feels like it is/was randomly forced by the generation of sentences for coherence non-making.

If it's truly this years Conan, then it has to die and die horribly.

Looks more like this year's THE RECRUIT.

It seems to be getting panned by the critics. WIth the lack of buzz and Box Office tracking in the MId Twenties this seems headed for disaster. SONY is going take a bath on this one with it's 200 Million dollar budget.

Last time they give Len Wiseman this much money to play around with.

If anyone wants a new take on Total Recall, watch Arnold's brilliantly insightful commentary instead.

I'm worried about these reviews. They might keep it out of serious Oscar consideration.

Gah, I 'm not sure that's possible even with Wiseman behind the camera.

I saw that on Encore the other day, and was amazed at how much it looked like a cheap, made-for-TV movie. I mean, that "car chase" between Ferrell and Moynihan toward the end is just a complete joke. I've seen him do great, vibrant work, but too often when it comes to US films where he's the lead, he just slaps on this somnambulant generic American persona. Blech.

This is shaping up to be one of those movies everyone completely forgets exists within 5 years or so. I could see, when the 25th Anniversary download or whatever comes out of the orginal film in 2017, people saying how relieved they are this was never remade.

Wrong thread.
