Hey there 'Sota peeps. I'm returning to the nordic motherland the first week of August. Tim Kelly and I are planning to meet up to fight some booze and talk some movies. You Twin Cities CHUD readers are invited. I staged a CHUD gathering a couple years ago and it was great to put faces to some avatars.

I will be in MN from Aug 2-9, though most of that will be spent at the wonderfully named Leech Lake. The 2nd, 3rd and 8th are my kickin' it options.

I will already be getting swarmed by mosquitoes on Sat. My time in the TC is limited, unfortunately, but hopefully we can squeeze something together so Tim can molest us all.

The 4th through the 11th - and I work evenings, so non-weekend dates (the 1st-3rd) wouldn't work. Oh well, c'est la vie and all that.

I'm outta town at the moment, returning on Sunday night. I'll have a better handle on.my availability when i get back. On a weeknight, 10:30 is typically my limit (sorry, I'm old).

Damn it would be great to meet up with all of you (at least I think it would be). Too bad my August is busy as shitballs between work, me DJ'n weddings and the two weddings I'm a groomsmen in.

 

Keep us posted on what the plan is. I will try my besterest to make it up there. Could be a damn good time.

If we meet in B-town, I recommend a place called Poor Richard's. Typical meh sports bar vibe, but it is on 100 just off 494. So pretty easy to get to from every angle. Plus the ease of parking that comes with the suburbs.

What's the rest of the collective have to say about Thurs? Though I might be showing up a little late (if 9pm can be considered late - come on midwest!!!!), it seems like an appealing thing to toss myself into upon arriving in viking country.

Immediately after work would be my ideal.  Depending upon the location, I could be there at a nice, early time.  If we stick with Bloomington, the LATEST I would be there is 5:15.

I know Tavern on France very well. Place gets LOUD but is pretty decent.
