Speaking of seeing images within images, it took me a very long time to realize that the skull on the Death's Head moth in the Silence Of The Lambs poster is made up of people.

It's a skull. I saw it right away. You guys are goofing, right?

I first noticed it on the re-issued vhs that I got long ago, and just looked a little closer and noticed the people forming the skull. Just one of those cool things that surfaces much later on. Glad now that others know about it!

At the time, the theater near me had enormous posters for the movie, so it was easy for me to say "Hey! Dere's naked chicks in dere!" It wasn't till later that I learned it was a specific call-out to Dali's "In Voluptas Mors."

I still have the three mini-posters and the "note" from Hannibal that Orion sent out to the press. The note's kind of corny, reminding "all my delectable young fans" to go see The Silence of the Lambs this February 14.
