BUT HE WASN'T IN COSTUME!!!!

 

I can't believe someone actually seriously suggested that. This isn't Depp visiting a children's hospital as Jack Sparrow. This needed dignity and decorum, and Bale brought it.

Damned decent of him.

 

I really hope they do a good job keeping the vultures away from snapping photos and just let the victims and the families in peace while he's there.

Yeah, as awesome as stuff like Ron Perlman visiting that Make-A-Wish kid in full, Spectral Motion-applied Hellboy makeup and attire is, this is a completely different situation.

The cat's out of the bag, so the vultures now have a brand-new thing to crow about in regards to this story.  Decency means nothing in the face of a ratings bonanza.

Between this and his actions in China, Bale has revealed himself to be more than a world class actor: he is a first class human being. These pictures are getting me choked up, and I can only imagine how his generosity of spirit felt to the people who saw the horror first hand.
