Deadpool project

So I got my hands on a copy of the 2010 draft of the Deadpool script by the Zombieland guys, and I kind of dig the hell out of it.  It reads tonally like Zombieland meets Kick Ass with action bits out of the Matrix.  There`s even several fun references to Ryan Reynolds, the fourth wall is broken, it`s constantly laugh out loud funny and incredibly hilariously violent, and of course there`s no way Fox would have the stones to ever make this thing.  Basically I LOVE this script and I would give my left nut to direct it.

 

So are there any fans of this character out there?  I can understand why some people might dismiss Deadpool as a juvenile gimmick, but to me he's exactly the kind of hilarious amoral asshole that the Marvel movie universe needs.

Disappointed they didn't make that script because of the giant co-starring role for COLOSSUS.

Which is a hilarious and awesome cameo btw.  Seeing any body react to Wade's behavior is great, but you need a straight man to really sell it.

Can this script be found online at one of those script websites? I'd love to read it. Joe Kelly's Deadpool is one of my all-time favorite comics.

Did this get canceled unbeknownst to me?  I was hoping that it was still in the works.  Sure, WW was BUTCHERED in XmO: Wolverine character-wise, but I thought that a Deadpool movie could be AWESOME if done right.

There's a director attached, and ostensibly they're re-writing the script. But there's been no movement for months, and given that Reynolds' appeal has chilled as of late, I wouldn't hold your breath.


Fox is probably trying to find a way to tie it into the X-Men mythology, which is about to get super confusing with Days Of Future Past.
